Re: J32A1 in a BB6

Looked into it a little bit. No bueno. I wont be able to use the new suspension parts with the RHD front end.

Guess thats just an extra 2,500$ for something else.

*edit*

I've had enough wiring for the day/night...

Why wouldn't it be legal? As long as you have all your receipts your good.

they just passed a law (check google) saying that anything but the original engine or similar engine that came with the car is illegal.

For my first RHD front clip, I paid $850shipped, and my 2nd RHD clip I paid $650shipped. It does take some time doing the conversion, but it's definitely fun driving around and trippin people out when they see you driving.

I'm a little more than half way finished with my 2nd RHD conversion simply cause I only work on it when I have the time. Having an RHD v6 Prelude would definitely be a one of kind type of car.

Re: J32A1 in a BB6

I'm just in need of a vacation from this build. My endless attention to detail and ability to do mind-numbing work for long periods of time really wears me down.

maybe I just need to go put the engine in the car again to get my motivation back...

Re: J32A1 in a BB6

Box from hasport came in today. Sent me the wrong rear mount. Awesome. EVERY order I have made for this build has had a problem but one. At least mishimoto got me the right radiator.

Those bad boys stiffer then stock?

Stiffer means more vibrations felt right?

They are the race rubbers. Yes there will be more vibration but there is also less flex.

since when does hasport make mounts for the j swap? are they just J series mounts that you have to make brackets for?

:o A mod asking a question instead of doing research tsk tsk. lol Mounts come from different cars. I think the rear is from a K swap Teg or supposed to be.

Hahahahaha! That made me cry a little.

Anyways...

I got a civic and an Integra j swap mount for sides. I need a prelude k swap rear mount which hasport didn't send. I got a stock lude rear mount. I can still do the side mounts while waiting on the rear. Probably going to work on it tomorrow. Guess it's time I start putting the car back together rather than taking more of it apart.

Thanks guys. Reminding me that I have work to do rather than my nature walks *cough cough* helps!

Photobucket issues... Sorry everyone. My phone and laptop seem to fight over where my pics go and its causing hell in my account. Just moved all of my pics again so it should be fixed this time.

Update time... Not the good kind...

Pulled the trunk apart again and found more rust. Pulled the lights and the rubbers are fine. Check the water drain lines - one of them was pulled out. I mean... really? How the **** does that happen?! Pulled the rear bumper cover to see what I need to order to get my rear end fixed (car got hit January 14th last year in a bar parking lot - five days after I got it).

Parts list:
Rear upper bumper support
Rear bumper cover
All clips
Lic. plate holder
Lic. plate light
Trunk gasket

Found some more rust under the bumper cover on the driver side. Its the metal that the top screw on the mud flap goes into. This one I will let slide honestly. I'm not going to patch it since it's almost gone already and I cant weld metal that thin.

Here are some pics...

You can make anything look good again - if you take the time and do the work.

I have two sets of carpet for it now. One tan and another black. I'll swap them out to see how it looks when its all back together.

Should I tint them a little bit? I started to but then questioned myself about it.

Guess its time I get my engine bay finished so we can spray it. Probably another 4-6 hours of wheeling paint and getting the look I want.

But... I've had another random idea for the engine bay. Requires more work but I think it could look good. You know the colors left on bare steel when it is heated? Yeah.... It should be less blinding when you open the hood that way at least. Input?

Re: J32A1 in a BB6

Update time!

Things completed this weekend:
ABS delete - all wiring (seriously - all of it) and module have been removed.
SRS delete - kept the seat belts in it as well as the drivers airbag.
Battery tuck - all wiring has been ran and split.
Engine fuse box tuck - it will now be located in the glove box.
Front of car lighting w/a few others - wiring is now tucked for all lights, fans, horns, A/C stuff (left the wiring in it in case I want it later).
75% of the alarm is installed - it is so well hidden not even papa smurf can find it (thanks SRS removal).
TONS of little side projects....

It really is the little things that count!

I know it looks kind of ghetto but I did what I could with what I had on hand. It needs to be adjusted now so I will probably change the plumbers tape out for something else.
