swapping JDM h22 type s ATTS into 97 prelude sh

I know there are tons of threads about this swap but many are about base preludes and the others are pretty much scatter brained.

I'm swapping in a JDM h22a type s w/ ATTS into my 97 prelude sh.

The engine comes with:
# Complete Engine
# Transmission 5 Speed FWD with ATTS
# ECU (Computer)
# Alternator, Starter
# Distributor
# Down Pipe
# PS Pump
# Intake and exhaust manifolds
# Sensors

I'm putting all of it in and taking the corresponding parts out of mine. I've heard it basically drops right in, but people run into issues.

-What issues are going to arise?
-How hard is it to do this swap?
-Is a highly knowledgable (i.e. worth traveling to a different state to an expensive shop) mechanic needed, or would an above average import performance shop be able to handle it?
-Also, for anyone who has had this done, throw out some prices that you were estimated to have the swap done.

Thank you all.

I really dont see any issues coming up unless somethin is broken when it's shipped. it's literally the exact same thing

awesome. that's exactly what i wanted to hear. I also emailed jdmsource (company providing engine) they said the only parts I'll need to keep from mine are the harness, and the only adjustment that will need to be made is to the distributor wiring.

exactly the same thing is pretty vague. Let's get down to some details since i'm currently have done a jdm swap. First things first, make sure you have all the mounts from your old motor. Since you are keeping ATTS axles are perfect fit so no need for a new. Now, things you may want to consider:
- manual tensioner timing belt swap
- new belts and water pump
- distributor swap from the old, it has 2 more connectors than the JDM, I believe
- Oil pump swap from old to new, your JDM may have a OBD1 style distributor which has the TDC and CKP sensor in them. Your stock USDM harness has these sensors located down in the oil pump.

all of those won't be necessary if they do happen to provide the correct ECU and full, not cut engine harness from the JDM Type S, still consider the manual tensioner swap since you have more aggressive cams in the type s.
