New Prelude SH

Hey all just wanted to share my recent purchase and ask a few questions.

I flew from NC to New Jersey to pick it up and drive back, it was worth it. I am coming from a 94 Integra LS that started misfiring on me. It gave me many good years and never quit on me, it had I/H/E (RSR Exmag), Tein lowering springs, strut bars and a bunch of other misc. mods.

So far I am loving it, the performance and handling is great. I searched forever for this car, it is a 01 and has 100k miles with new timing belt and new clutch, extremely well maintained and taken care of. Very clean, perfect interior, excellent exterior.

The only mods I am considering is strut bars, lowering springs, suspension bushings, shift bushings, OEM lip. This is going to be my daily driver and there will be no rice! If anyone has any recommendations or advice, please let me know. I am particularly interested in shift bushings right now (Since I had them on my integra) since I feel like the shift is so sloppy. I had bad luck with a short shifter on my integra, so I am wary of trying that again. (Short shifter seemed to rush the transmission and grind gears, didn't like it.)

Re: New Prelude SH

From what I see you already have the OEM lip kit...I'm pretty sure it was standard on the SHs.

High five for the black lude, looks just like mine lol

Re: New Prelude SH

I am talking about the front OEM lip. I don't think I will be getting the entire lip kit since the SH already comes with the side and rear skirts painted, and I dont care for the small flare they put into it.

This pic has the entire OEM lip kit, I just want the front, which I believe you can buy from HANDA accessories.

If you want a smoother shifter, buy this: 97-01 Honda Prelude Short Shifter : JTC Customs
I bought mine a couple weeks ago and couldn't be happier. I've heard nothing but good things from this short shifter. As for shifter bushings, I went with these: TWM Performance Shifter Bushings

I to have the JTC Customs Short Shifter, and it is wonderful. You can set it to an almost stock throw/height so that it doesn't feel like it is rushing the gears as well.

Re: New Prelude SH

Thanks for the compliments, I have always wanted a black car and now I finally got one.. now that premium is over $4 a gallon.. great..

I saw you guys talking about that short shifter and bushings (yes I DO search) and they look great. I think I will give it a try, I like how it is adjustable like you mentioned to almost stock height and you can still lower the shift knob. I feel like the stock knob is just a tad high and feels a little unnatural for me.

I have one question about the combo of bushing and shifter, do you buy the combo pack of bushings that come with the shifter base bushings (Top selection on the site) or does the short shifter already come with the base bushings?

Thanks for the advice.
