Re: type s question.

As in only marketed in Japan Type S?

If so, All 5th Gen Preludes came standard with a sunroof.... except Type S (At least, that's how I understand it to be.)

Re: type s question.

It should obviously be stamped H22a. Also measure the throttle body as the Type-S has 62mm. Does it have ATTS?

i believe he is referring to the motor

the type s H22a came with atts, as well as a wrinkle red valve cover, which is why the different h22a models are commonly referred to as a black top or red top.

the type s motor came with 11:1 compression while the black top came in at 10.5:1

Re: type s question.

if the block is stamped h22a4 thats an easy way to tell its not.

if its h22a

compression test. or like merlin said measure the throttle body.

The Type S came with a JDM H22A Red top, the Type SH came with ATTS and an H22A4.

And to OP, the quickest and best way to tell if its a Type SH would be the VIN

go smog it. If it fails, you have a type s lol...

If the engine is stamped "h22a", then look under the car and see if you have atts. If you do, it's a type s.

either that or the guy just bought a red valve cover and threw it on there. your other option is it came out of a 4th gen
