Anybody recognize this brand???

HONDA PRELUDE 2.2 2.2L AIR INTAKE INDUCTION 97-01 BLUE | eBay

$35 for an intake...Just seems way too good to be true.

I actually find a ton of weird brand intakes for super cheap. Is this normal...? Haven't really browsed ebay for parts since I got my lude till today and never had a car worth spending money on before lol

Re: Anybody recognize this brand???

air intakes are pretty simple and i wouldnt spend too much on one, unless u have like a grip of high performance parts already in it... get a cheap intake tube and stick a K&N filter on it... i made the mistake of buying the K&N typhoon cold air intake to put on my stock h22 and i felt like it lowered my response time.. and it cost me 250 bux.. just recently i took off the lower part of the intake tube (cuz the typhoon comes in 2 pieces) and made it in too a short ram intake like the one u see on the ebay pic... i feel its better now

its only a tube of aluminum, that's it. the biggest difference will come with a quality filter.

unless you feel like dropping $350 for a V2

i might get flamed alot but the difference is about 300 dollars sounds a bit different cus its chambered and air flows different inside then jus a regular pipe. performance wise its not as good as a real cold air setup.

There is actually a thread that proves that the 3a racing intake filter is the most high flowing and one of the best filtration filters there is. And it's only a $20 filter. Here is the link

well hell just keep your stock airbox and swap it out if need be. You should'nt have to break weld or mod anything.

Re: Anybody recognize this brand???

why not just not buy an intake at all..... just get a K&N filter and take off your air box and use the factory tube??? save money all the way around, it might not look as cool but it'll work.

Re: Anybody recognize this brand???

Um... Despite sounding nuts, you could make your own with pvc piping and rubber clamp joints. Any local Home Depot has these parts. The only thing you do then, rough up the PVC with grit paper then paint with brake caliper paint. The filter you can get from k&n by dimension. Conical, with round base diameter with coupler. Pretty straight foward and you get exactly what you want.

What? I'm cheap as Hell and like results.

The Blitz filter did terrible, and the K&N came in behind the Apex`i in this test.

I don't buy it. The difference in the test they provided and the test I posted are way too different. Mind you, they didn't test all of the filters as the first one posted... but the K&N and Apex`i tests are quite a bit different in results. More information is needed. LOL

EDIT: Just saw that the website that posted the test results doesn't sell the K&N or Apex`i filters, but DOES sell the cheapie units that they tested. Therefore, I don't trust a thing they say, as they have a vested interest in the results.

True. And the 3a is really small. But I dont think that matters. Either way if I can get something even close as good for $10-20 instead of $130 I'm down
