130000 mile honda prelude

There is a guy that will sell me his honda prelude that has 130000 miles on the stock engine. The car has never seen winter and has been tuned like crazy. The car has a new paint job and graphics. He is asking 6k for it. Is this a good deal? How long can a honda preludes engine last if its been well kept before it starts breaking down?

130k is just middle-aged -- there are several of us with cars well over 200k, and there have been Preludes that have gone over 300k on the original engine. Can't speak to the price -- that's very heavily dependent on condition and location -- but if the car's well-maintained, the mileage is nothing to worry about.

Graphics = rice. But if you like it go for it. What year is it? And by "tuned like crazy" do you mean he tuned the ECU, or like…. added a bunch of ricer add-ons that are pointless?

Tuned like crazy...? If it was done right and its got a lot more power than stock then 6k is a suspicious price IMO. Unless the graphics are super ricer and gross ig uess

I would have to say as an owner of a 2001 Prelude with 147k, that these cars are enginewise almost bulletproof. I have owned many Nissans-ehhh... Toyotas-hmmm... Mitsubishis-..."Gunshot". After almost 80k of me owning and driving the piss out of it. It still drives like day 1 I drove it off the lot I bought it at. With regular maintenance and mobil one synthetic :-), It should last you well over 200k (Saying he hasn't haphazardly created a honda nightmare under the hood.) Have a mechanic friend take a look at it. Or if all else fails post us some pics of the motor and interior/exterior pics and we will give you our best opinion. You wont regret it, these are great cars.
Best of luck!
