Icon6 Well guys Im sorry, but I might just get rid of the lude, not enough torque :-\

itll cost way too much money to get the torque and HP it needs I wish honda would of made torqier cars I love the looks and love hondas especially ludes and s2000's but it just aint cuttin it for me, so this is what I probably will decide since I got holes in my pockets. well i might trade in my lude as a down payment and get an 05' GTO like i planned the first time, either that or put a low down payment n give the lude to my older bro! GTO was first car I wanted the 05's n up are 400 HP stock and got sooo much damn torque and are little lighter than ludes, its a sweet car.

callin it a sweet car is a matter of opinion. the engine is nice, the rest of the car is crap. it looks like a freakin grand prix. no style, no balls. wack.

don't do it, i work at a GMC, Pontiac and Buick dealership, and the 6.0 GTOs come in all the time for crap, the only people who don't complain about them is the ones that use them for garadge queens and only drive them once a month, people who use them for daily drivers say that they can wait to get rid of theirs, but i will admit they're fast but they handle like ****!!

Sorry buddy, but you picked the wrong car in the first place if you just wanted to be the fastest in a straight line, without putting some money into it of course. Keep the Prelude man, you'll see some day that going real fast in a straight line isn't as fun as going real fast around hair-pin turns and throttling out of a corner. It's just not the same. And besides, if you do wanna go fast in a straight line, why spend $30,000 on a VERY plain looking 400 hp car? Go buy like a 98 z28 Camaro with a LS1 engine in it. They have around 305 HP and 350 ft/lbs of torque stock. You can probably get one in good condition for around 7 grand, and then you just saved 23,000 dollars that you can spend on mods, and the ammount of power you can squeeze out of that thing will blow your mind... plus it'll just plain look better than the GTO. My uncle has a 98 Z28 that runs low tens now, he bought it brand new in late 97 and it ran 13.49 stock. And I can guarantee you that he hasn't spend 23,000 dollars on modifications to get it into the 10's. Oh, and on top of everything else, if you do mod it too much, and blow your engine/destroy your car, you're only out 7 grand, as opposed to 30 grand.

All I'm saying is, don't take the easy way out. I assume from your user name that you are in your early 20's. Don't waste 30,000 dollars on a car this early in life, go buy one for cheap (or keep your current prelude), and mod the hell out of it yourself or with a more knowledgable friend. You'll feel like you've accomplished something, you'll save LOTS of money, and you'll probably learn a lot about the way things work mechanically.

is it just me.. or does the GTO's engine sounds meaner than how the car looks? The only thing I like about that car is the motor.

I'm talking about the look of the GTO compared to how it sounds. For a car that looks like that you wouldn't expect it so sound the way it does. kinda surprising even...

it dowsnt matter i cant get a bank loan to pay anything and working for 8.50 an hour making only 800-1000 a month and spending 6-700 a month in bills ill never save mnoney for turbo, im screwed either way, i need at least 3G's for a good turb kit like a Turbonetics one for a 50 trim and at least another 1500 for new valves valve springs, pistons (preferably Ysco) and other parts to rebuild internals and another 1000-1500 to my mechanic to do all the work. My lude stock at the track last night ran a 16.7, and it came with a cold air intake and a light weight flywheel my R/T was like 0.05 something nearly perfect and my friend got me on his video camera i had perfect shifts and a great launch, i love my lude to death n would hate gettin rid of it but im sorry Hondas are slow unless u got the money to build them up for more Torque and HP, I wish honda would of made their cars Torquier from the start from factory so it wouldnt be some much money n work to make it like that.

yeah thats what i said, it's NOT the 6.0, the LS2s have the clear tail lights and bigger tips on both sides instead of the smaller tips that just come out on the drivers side

well i had those 18's on despite that their the same weight and diameter as my stock car, my friends all say it all depends on the traction and my rims have no traction and sidewall. Then they said to make it straight JDM and said to get stock size rims and preferably Volks... all I did yesterday was put a rrear and front strut bar on my car dont know how much that helps though now im about to replace the sway bar if i can find some decent ones, dont know where or how to look

suspension techniques sway bars hands down. you'll notice the difference in handling hands down compared to strut bars.

despite the 18's being the same weight as stock wheels, the weight is located farther from the center of rotation with the 18's, requiring more power to move them. (fuk mechanical engineering )
also, the 35 or 40 series profile tires are KILLING your traction. you want the tires to "give" somewhat when you launch, instead of instantly spinning.

Lol this is kind of unrelated, but you should have heard me trying valiantly to explain to my girlfriend the concept of power-loss due to the affects of rotational mass last night. Almost as good as trying to explain to her the concept of "floating a valve".

I would stick with the lude man. There was a guy in cali that put 725 HP in an H22A and I think he did it for just over $5k. PLus, the GTOs' are going bust. After 2, 3 years, I have found thatyou can get one with under 20k miles around here for $16k or even less. Not a good car to go with.

So you've noticed it too huh? Something doesn't set right with me and that car. I can't put my figure on it. I might need to test drive it again.
