Reset ecu

So I'm planning on installed my Type-s intake over the weekend, and I believe that I would need to reset my ecu to recalibrate the fuel/air ratio to the car. So I'm guessing I would need to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and leave it off for about 15 minutes, and pump the brakes as well 10x?

Also, does anyone know what size is the nut on the negative battery terminal?

Is it essential to reset the ecu after changing intakes?

Re: Reset ecu

You do not need to reset your ECU just for an intake change, but if it makes you feel better, then go right on ahead. Terminal nuts vary in size, but if I had to guess, I would say 10mm.

Re: Reset ecu

sometimes its an 8mm but i dont think you need to pump the gas. i what i do is disconnect the neg and turn the key to the on for 30 sec position and that usually clears the check eng light which i think is the same thing...
