header question

what company makes good headers? i know vibrant is discontinued. everyone has mixed feelings of replicas. money is not a concern, something probably under 800?

Re: header question

save up 400 more and pick up a Hy Tech. they go for around 1200 out the door i believe. then for around 1k you could get a bisi, but there are some pretty mixed reviews on that. best bang for your buck though IS a replica. under 400 and dyno proven.

Re: header question

I can get a hytech replica for 420 from my good Honda shop. Some say what you just said, others say you have to pay to play, etc etc. I just want to know what other non replica headers are out there.

Re: header question

What are good replica makers? I remember my honda shop said they have lpa header or something like it. There's also a guy who's sells hytech replica header on prelude power. It states group buy but it's not group buy anymore.

Re: header question

The Hytech Replica (PLM Tri-Y 4-2-1) header is seriously a pain.
Yes it is cheap but with that, it comes with a lot of custom fitting.
The ground clearance is also pretty bad if you are slammed so you have to be careful.

I would just spend more money and buy the new Vibrant header instead of paying a shop to do all the custom fitting and fabrication unless you have sources.

Vibrant H series 4-2-1 header Part# 2540 is the new one.

Re: header question

^ yeah, rosko racing is selling that $675 + shipping
problem - I live in Finland so shipping costs would be...catastrophical
that vibrant would cost me atleast 800 bucks + taxes (x 1,25) = 1000 bucks...

I could get custom header here for that money

Re: header question

If the header is 4-2-1 then whats the problem with having it replica... is having the 4-2-1 set up the best for a 5th gen?

Re: header question

does anybody have aluminium radiator with that tri Y header?
Im little bit concerned about that thing: aftermarket radiator comes 1,57" closer to the header than stock one... does it make fitment issues?
and pics about your ground clearances would be nice, I have seen lots of different outcomes and to be honest little bit scared here..

Re: header question

As far as I can tell, virtually every aftermarket header that isn't an OEM replacement makes somewhere between 10-15 additional HP. Pick whatever you want that isn't Megan or DC. As far as bang-for-your-buck applications there are really only three choices:

Private Label MFG RMF 4-1 Replica
Private Label MFG HyTech 4-2-1 Replica
Logic Motorsports 4-2-1

All these can be had for 300-500 dollars, all of them seem to give 10-15hp. (The RMF replica seems to do the best.)

The most important thing you can do to any of these is give them a custom collector and go for a full 3-inch (or greater) exhaust.

Also, I think you're projecting a bit on the "everyone has mixed feelings about replicas". Private Label MFG's stuff is just good. I've never seen anyone complain about their craftsmanship or customer service.
