goodbye to my lude

the other night something short circuited and burnt my prelude to a crisp

Insurance company is coming to get it monday

fire dept said it started in passenger area, and spread to trunk. I know this isnt the right spot but I got some ebay jdm style fogs clear and full harness, a BWR cam seal red and a spark plug cover if anyone is interested, those never made it to the car.

Sucks ass big time

Whoa **** dude, I always hate to see these threads. :(

I assume since you didnt mention that no one was hurt, if that is the case then I'm glad. Sorry to see this bro, it always sucks to lose a car to something out of your control.

Re: goodbye to my lude

That really sucks man, always sad to see a nice lude destroyed.

There's two mods I do to every car I buy, install an alarm and mount a fire extinguisher. I hope the insurance company doesn't screw you too badly.

sucks dude, at least it wasn't in your garage when it happened. in my old house my brothers beamer short circuited inside our garage and the whole house burnt down. but usually in situations like this-for once, insurance is on your side and will help

I wouldn't use alloy wheels that have been subject to extreme heat like that.

I usually enjoy seeing the results of a car-b-que, but not when it's a lude.... sorry about your ride man.

yeah cars can be replaced, luckily it wasn't inside the garage cause that would have been horrible.

Re: goodbye to my lude

Oh shoot sorry. Didn't catch that lol. Still early. I've heard of and seen many burned nearly ignited power wires from improper installation. But sometimes freak stuff happens. Sorry to hear man. That's a bummer. I burned down an old Volvo by accident. Investigaters gave us a really lame story that I still don't believe. A switched power circuit that was fused at 3 amps wasappearantly thecause when it went up with the car off at night. Oh well I just say its one thing off my bucket list lol!

from what the fire dept says looks like it started in passenger compartment, there was a remote car stater with it when I bought it, never worked, could be the cause I suppose.

I hope I at least get book value on it

Re: goodbye to my lude

Poor Lude :(

On the bright side you get to know she went out in a blaze of glory and not sold to some ricer kid that would total it a month later (... what happened to my first lude)

I hope insurance doesn't try to screw you too badly.

You have plans to get a new Lude or haven't decided yet?
