USDM h22a4 vs JDM H22a Type S?

Im looking in the area of buying a new motor or already rebuilt motor. it seems thats its easier to find JDM motors the thing is i want to be able to have my ATTS function but i heard the type S comes with the LSD unless thats the tranny if im mistaken. can you guys gimme some pros and cons? and if i get a type S will it work with my USDM ATTS or will i have to change out the ECU? any info helps thanks.

You can find a Type-S with the ATTS as well for about $3,000 with no problem. The ecu should work fine if you change most of the H22a4 parts over to the type-s with no engine lights...

Re: USDM h22a4 vs JDM H22a Type S?

I had a hard time finding the Type S motor seperately, so i had to buy the whole package (Tran, motor & ATTS). It's hard to find an ECU for the JDM ATTS, so you will need to swap ATTS units. but to answer your original question, Yes, your USDM ATTS will work with the Type S motor.

And I 2nd what UPSLuder said.

no, the ATTS has its own ECU. If you use the USDM ATTS, then use the USDM ATTS ECU. and vise versa.
