About to join prelude zone .. But need help on deciding on which prelude to grab.

Hi, I'm new to here and I'm not sure how the rules work and i apoligize if im breaking any. But I need your help. I have two options in mind atm. Today I found a very good deal for a prelude i'm wondering which of the two i should grab. I have not looked at the second one yet and i'm going to see it in a few days.

6100$ -> 5200$ 165km 01 prelude special edition white w/ few scrapes but pretty much stock w/ leather

or

6500$(have not seen the car and owner to lower price) 105km 99 prelude base? red w/ full body kit, after market stereo 18" racing wheels w/ falcon tires and many more add ons /w no leather

of course theres other factors but judging from the information you know which prelude would you choose.

I would go with the white one cause it looks completely stock. Its nothing like building your own car from the ground up... The red one looks great but I would get the white one...

Avoid automatic. I would take stock one because it hasn't been ass raped by a rice noob.

well yes the white one is the way to go. yes it has more milage but the itll prob last longer. depends on how they are both cared for. check for rust tho. wheel wells and all.

Re: About to join prelude zone .. But need help on deciding on which prelude to grab.

I must say tho that the red one has been done fairly clean and nicely so props to that owner (hope he's running real falkins and not some china knock of "falcons") but...

I would go with the white one just because it's stock and fairly clean so you'll have a feeling the guy didn't really try to race it. Also, you'll be able to do your own custom work. I'm also all for leather so... yea:) white ftw.

Re: About to join prelude zone .. But need help on deciding on which prelude to grab.

not every prelude that's already modded is bad news. i'd say red one!
even tho the white lude is SE which is top of the line kinda like SH here and its a 2001 the last year they made them. (which is what i have '01 Prelude SH) but the red one has less mileage and most likely u can negotiate it too. in the end its your choice since ur the one payin for it. lol good luck buddy

the red one has the mugen kit. does it also have the mugen front bumper? red one doesnt look riced or abused out at all but the pics are small

Assess the red one. Its modifications are (from what I can tell) tasteful. Taste is not equal to rice. The guy who built it may have a good eye but bad judgement and throttled the car but generally a nicely nodded car yields respectable owner. If it is mechanically sound I would buy the red one.

I would check both of them out first, look at the history, receipts are great too. I like the red one, it does look tastefully modded, if there are no issues then I would go with the red one as it has less mileage too.

ya i mean i only say white cause its nice to mod your own ride. but if the red is nicely modded and not abused its gonna be the better choice.

They both look good....but appearances aren't everything. Try to obtain a Carfax on them , ask about maintenance records, look closely at things like coolant and oil, if possible have it scanned for codes because it is possible for sellers to clear them... these are just things I looked for as I was shopping for mine. In the end, mileage isn't a tell all, it all depends on how well the car is actually maintained. good luck with your decision!

carfax and mileage isnt really a guarantee.. and i've seen fake receipts before. so in the end is best to have it inspected by a mechanic u trust, if u not mechanically inclined. either way, have u made a decision yet? lol bigger, detailed pix would be nice

Re: About to join prelude zone .. But need help on deciding on which prelude to grab.

The red one has 65k miles

The white one has 102k miles

^ for those of you wondering.

The red one looks (as previously stated) to have a molded Mugen rear, Mugen sides, and a Mugen spoiler but possibly stock front bumper judging by the side markers.

I would look at them both first - Honestly either one could be a good deal, that kind of mileage for EITHER of them here in the states would be amazing.... i can't imagine 65k on a 'lude o.O

i would still go with the white one bc you never know what that red one has been through. and with the 1000 saved from buying the white one you could biuld your own car not rep someone elses.

Re: About to join prelude zone .. But need help on deciding on which prelude to grab.

easy choice man..... WHITE STOCK....

because:
1) if this going to be your project/mod car, it's always more pleasing to start out with a virgin car. I've learned form modding car is that sometimes modded cars you buy have their own hidden issues that sellers don't disclose. You have less risk of hidden issues with stock cars. But please look up car report.

2) red cars look great but after a while when the paint is old, you can see the FADE much more compared to a white car
