What is this and where does it belong? [Engine bay content]

Digging around my engine bay last night...noticed this thing just sitting somewhere doing nothing. Now I do believe that it is supposed to be bolted to the hole I have circled in red? The previous owner welded up a custom bracket that the intake sits on so it doesn't rattle [or atleast thats what I assume] and I think used the bolt from that hole for that bracket. Anyways, does this little guy do? There was also a wiring harness that was unplugged from it.... I plugged it back in. Also, there is a breather/vacuum line coming off it that goes no where...

Re: What is this and where does it belong? [Engine bay content]

I believe it is part of either the IAB's or somehow part of the resonator? Someone correct me if I am wrong, I took it out of my car and so do a lot of people who put in aftermarket intakes. There is a write up on here of how to do it in the DIY section called like how to remove stock resonator box, I am too lazy to look it up, you can go find it though lol

Edit: here found it for you anyways lol ENG: How to remove air intake resonator - 5G Prelude it is your butterfly control vavle

Re: What is this and where does it belong? [Engine bay content]

Haha nice :P I eliminated that along with many other things from my engine bay, I have currently done an engine and transmission delete for the weight reduction

Make sure you cover those openings on the top of the IM like the guy says to...
