Re: Atts fluid

its in the honda technicians guide on prelude SH's. to be honest dude your better off bringing it to the dealership to get it done its more of a pain in the ass then its worth and requires a lift or your front wheels to be off the ground in order to drain the old fluid. i could tell u all the details but go to the 5th gen resource guide

Re: Atts fluid

wow, dont take it to a shop... jack the front end up, remove driver side tire, the atts unit has 2 bolts, a drain bolt and a fill bolt. remove both and drain old fluid. replace the drain bolt and get a cap with a nipple that will fit onto the atf fluid container. put a hose on the nipple and squeeze the atf fluid into the fill hole until fluid starts to drain out of the top hole. i dont remember off the top of my head how many quarts, but i think its just over 1 full quart, so grab two. dont know why people pay for fluid changes.

Re: Atts fluid

It is pretty easy, and it is hard to miss. It is the reason I have to use an open ended wrench rather than a rachet to change my oil lol. I bought a pump for like $7 from autozone and am going to use that to fill the ATTS unit, and the transmission

Re: Atts fluid

not hard at all. unless taking off your tire or jacking up the car is hard? some people are lazy i guess.

just read the helms to verify what i wrote before.

it says to jack the car up, put on jack stands so the car is level, remove drain plug and oil, replace plug and tighten, remove filler bolt and fill with 1 qt atf fluid. you want the fluid to kinda seep out the fill hole to know its topped off. replace filler plug and tighten. put wheel back on, lower car and done.

Yeah, I believe it is 1 quart and it is like 1.25 quarts if you test it before changing it, which you do by putting it on jackstands it up and putting the car in second driving it to where the speedo says 30 mph and then turning the wheels or something its in the manual right next to what biglegs wrote.

Re: Atts fluid

I always find it interesting when someone asks how to do something and they get a reply with "its too hard, take it to the dealer"
Thats not what they asked first off and not only that, it usually ends up being simple enough to do with a little research.

well i wasnt going to go through all the steps to do it, and if i let them do it and they ****ed up they are responsible and im not in a hole if my car got ****ed up. I did it before i knew anything about the atts system. and 140 bucks isnt really that much money. I wouldnt go by what you just said anyway it makes more sense to look in the actual guide.

That is only if you want to test the ATTS unit to see if it is working, haha and sorry I guess you have something against Idaho and Texas where we actually get sh*t done.

Sad, I hope there are some people in that huge city that are smart enough to take off two bolts pour in some fluid and screw them back in.

I use 1/2'' ID vinyl tubing and a nipple that screws directly on the quart of fluid. works like a champ.
