Possible crack issues looking for advice

Hello all,, New to the site! :) Looks like lots of good info here.. I'm writing for my buddy, as he has a 97 Prelude Type SH..

I hope someone may know of have an idea of whats happening.. I have my own thoughts but dont want to go there. :)

He is getting water in the 2nd spark plug shaft from left to right after his car has been running for 15 minutes or so. pull the plug boot out and its got water moisture and i believe its Antifreeze.. To add to it, it also after 15 minutes of running it starts to really spudder both in Idle and driving. :(
I have a feeling I'm going to have to remove the Head to see if its cracked or a gasket but the gasket seems that its lower than where the water is coming in.

Anyways any Ideas or advice would be awesome and appreciated..
Thanks,

Re: Possible crack issues looking for advice

i cant be 100% sure on the h22 but every other car ive worked on the coolant isnt anywhere near the spark plug tubes. there may be oil in there and what may happen is that the oil is providing a means for the spark to ground out to the case. would cause a rough motor. also check your oil dipstick. if its up and/or milky, your head gaskets blown for sure. if your coolant is either down or up, probably a head gasket. would explain the 15 minute thing as the gap or crack in the gasket would get bigger as it heats up.

ahh one heads up though. if your head is leaking bad, coolant is getting into the combustion chamber, possibly coming up around a loose plug.

best thing to do, pull all your plugs. they should all look the same. white tips are bad and mean that theve been burning coolant. you can replace your plug and if its white again after 30 minutes of driving, head gasket.

It was the Hulk holding up a pair of TIG ol' bitties. NAKED tiittiess. If she at least had a bikini/bra on, it woulda been acceptable, but since like >80% of us cruise this site during work, that 'ish aint gonna fly here.

Now back on topic....
Like Drj said, its VERY hard for coolant to get into those tubes, are you sure it isn't oil?

Re: Possible crack issues looking for advice

I have to replace my head gasket, same issues man. Head gasket should be at autozone for me to pick up later tonight. I'm not looking forward to this job, not because I dont want to work on the car, but because I dont have a place to do it and I dont want to rush it, but whatever, it's gotta be done and I'm not letting some other mechanic touch my car.
