gasket question

where does the head gasket go and the valve cover gasket? cause im replacing the valve cover gasket and started thinking about the head gasket

The head gasket goes between the head and the block.

If you replace the head gasket you are not just replacing the head gasket though, you will need to replace your head bolts, lots of other seals and it is going to be like $200-400 in parts.
