Exhaust

I am planning on getting this setup and wanted to know if this would be a good Catalytic Converter to go with?

Magnaflow 22644-Magnaflow Catalytic Direct Fit-Honda-Hottexhaust

Hytech replica -- Magnaflow 22664--Mugen twin loop

Thanks for the help

Re: Exhaust

yeah, see if they have a universal thats has the same diameter tubing that the exhaust has....it'll save you a little bit of money and you wont bottle neck your exhaust...thats a direct oem replacement so the tubing will be just a bit smaller diameter then the mugen twinloops piping...

Re: Exhaust

So adding a cat in a system like that will pass smog? I'm goddamn stuck lookin at replacing everything so I can reg this damn thing here in Cali....Have searched through this forum but digging through 9 billion posts for "exhaust" I gave up after an hour. Regular muffler shop quoted me $1700 to go back to stock to pass emissions but I know there HAS TO BE a better way.

Re: Exhaust

Get a higher flowing Magnaflow cat. They still pass emissions and don't clog up the exhaust stream. Hytech Replica headers are a royal pain in the ass to install and get the right piping to hook up to your exhaust system. I hate mine lol. If you're in Cali, you'll want to get a DC that has the CARB badge on it. It will bolt up to everything just like stock USDM, instead of the Hytech being closer to a JDM unit without the CARB cert. As far as what you wanna do after the cat, that's all up to you homie.

Re: Exhaust

mugen twin loop = waste. its not even 2.5" piping. youd get more power with a 2.5" skunk2. if you want that twin loop sound, obx twinloop and custom piping

test pipe = loud annoying ricer drone and pollution of the earth.

like ups said, the twin loop isnt going to give you much power its mainly just bling with its jdm rarity. super nice, really quiet, but not much bigger than oem diameter...

Re: Exhaust

Test pipes don't always create annoying drones. My car is as quiet as stock on the interstate, and isn't much louder than stock while accelerating.

They don't make the Street Power exhaust for our cars anymore, do they? I know the 4th gen model has been discontinued.

LMAO I decided to save the 100 and not use a resonator. I figure it can't be any louder then a TA or a mustang or somethin along those lines lol. I'm super stoked tho. Can't wait to get it all put on.
