Re: Turn signal help

Taking into consideration that you may not be able to write English well - this is all I was able to gather from what you're trying to explain;

You had a body kit installed onto the front of your 5th gen. You no longer have front/side turn signals because of this and would like to make your running lights into your turn signals. However when you hooked up your turn signal wires to your running lights - they only flash when the headlights are on.

Sounds to me like you may have crossed a wire.

My suggestion: just install JDM signals onto your fenders If you really need something on the side of your car. As far as the front goes, you should be able to mount a stock turn signal into it if you make some custom brackets. The overall idea of making your running lights into turn signals may not be legal since they wont be visible at night when your headlights are on.

By taking the wires that used to be the side marker lights, extend them to the fender and have a shop cut out and install the JDM signals as someone previously suggested in your other topic.

For anyone else trying to figure out what he's talking about but getting a headache, here's the original thread with pictures of his front bumper.

sorry for the bad writing its kind of hard to write properly with an iphone, ok your are 70% right, yes i do no longer have the front turn signals nor the left and right, i want to try and use what some ppl call the city lights as turn signals, what i did is added the wire from the turn signal and added it to the city lights, when i hooked them up they worked ok, the only thing is i would but the left turn signal and both blinked, also when i turned on the parking lights (when you flip the switch as if your turning your headlights on) they stay on and cant put left or right turn signal and the left inside my dash for the turn siganls stay on.

so that is what i was trying to say i hope this makes more since, also i am now looking into retrofitting somthing for those holes, but i was thinking more for those holes to added some fog lights but thats just me ill se what i can do and where i can go to

Re: Turn signal help

You should have completely cut the wires off the city lights. (leave enough slack to splice back in) and then wire up the wires from the turn signals to that. You will have to extend wires if i'm not mistaken.

Sounds like you just spliced both together in hopes for it to work. That's why they're working when you turn your lights on.

I still suggest another method - beings at night when your headlights are on, you won't be able to see your turn signals. JDM fender signals or retro something in your bumper as previously suggested are your best bets.

As for foglights, you could always custom install something anywhere in that bumper, plenty of space/options.

maybe a little off topic: but I read your previous thread, what made you choose that specific front? (Did the place you got it from have any custom lights installed for signals? or just for looks)
