Icon6 Flex Pipe Issue

I recently discovered there is a hole in my flex pipe. Should i buy a brand new flex pipe or try to repair the one i have on now. If its better to repair it does anyone know what the price range is to fix it. thanx. Also just replaced the knock sensor because my check engine light was on due to it. After i replaced it light was still on. Is it because the flex pipe is damage?

Could be. What code are you throwing?

Re: Flex Pipe Issue

Well you said after you replaced the knock sensor, you were still getting a CEL light. First things first, you need to disconnect the negative terminal of your battery for 10-15 seconds in order to reset your ECU. After that, go ahead and start the car to see if you're still getting a CEL light. If you are, you need to pull the code and let me know what it is.

Re: Flex Pipe Issue

Agreed, if you have an exhaust leak, especially at a flex fitting, then it needs to be replaced. With a naturally aspirated engine you absolutely need all the backpressure your exhaust system has. A leak is highly detrimental to performance, and flex fittings arent that expensive, unless its actually a part of your 4-2-1 header component, then it requires the replacement of the 2-1 section, which on the cheaper ones is difficult to find the 2-1 section (let alone the brand or specific model you have on). Personally, if you have an issue with your old exhaust headers, get new ones. Ebay is a wonderful thing!

Re: Flex Pipe Issue

we charge $100 to replace a flex which is cheaper than the 2-1 section or an entire down pipe on most cars.

Shouldn't be terribly expensive, really.
