Uno momento? JDM FOGS

I want to get some JDM foggies, i have the OEM ones now. so could i just take those out and slap in the JDM's and make them work with the stock fog light switch? or would i have to wire them all the way through and put in a new switch?

Re: Uno momento?

I think they would fit and plug in...not 100% sure though.

OEM or replicas?

Re: Uno momento?

You might need to fudge the wiring because I seriously doubt that the poor quality replicas would plug directly into the factory wiring from your existing oem lights. However the rest of the system would work fine.

Re: Uno momento?

IIRC you should be able to get away with just redoing the interior harness, including the switch. I dont think that the switches are compatible. Well I'm not 100% as far as OEM>Replica, but I do know that USDM OEM>JDM OEM required a small bit of modding.

Edit: This is what I was referring to: INT: 5th gen -Wire JDM Foglights with USDM Fog switch
As to the relevance to this...Idfk anymore lol, take it for what you will, hope it helps. lol

If you get the replica set that has the funky ass harnesses then just ake their interior harness, and cut off the plug (as this plug is supposed to go into the exterior harness they provide, and expect you to run through the fender. Which is completely pointless) Then on the end you cut off splice a bullet connector to it and hook it up to the pre-run thats in the car (should be an orange wire with a bullet on the end coming from the firewall near/ around the fusebox area). Then just use their switch, and everything else from there should be the same. Although I'm not sure if OEM fogs were h3c or not... anywho, hope that made sense, good luck with it buddy. Pics when you're done!

Re: Uno momento? JDM FOGS

yes you can swap out the housings, no need to do ANYTHING else. they both use an h3 or h3c bulb nothing else is different. there is no need to change your existing oem wiring or switches

Re: Uno momento? JDM FOGS

I just got the "JDM" foglights off of Ebay, what a total rip-off, they are total knock-off, poor quality pieces of junk. It looks like they were super glued together and I have no intentions of installing these stupid things on my car. My advice? Lay your hands on the new equipment and then decide if you want to install them.
