green maintence required light in 5th gen...what does it mean?

I keep looking at Preludes, and many of them have the green light on the speedometer on, I think it is a maintence warning lamp?

What is that light for, why does it come on, and is it a sign of a problem?

Thanks

The little green bar is for the oil change and rotates like the mileage, not a light.

It will turn yellow, then red, giving you an indication that you are past the recommended maintenance period. I reset it every time I do an oil change. Because I do it on my terms!

dr2day is exactly right. It is just a maintenance reminder that rolls with the odometer. I believe it is on a 7500 mi rotation which was Honda's recommended service interval at the time. I use it to remind me when it is time for a tire rotation cause 7500mi is a good tire rotation interval and I change my oil every 2500mi.

How do you reset it?

There is a button you can press in with your key or screw driver.

There is a little slot next to the maintenance reminder. Stick your key in there.
