Anyone? Energy Suspension Master Kit Installed?

I am thinking of spending some hard earned $$ on the Engergy Suspension Master Kit for 5th Gen lude. My question is has anyone installed this kit completely and what are your impressions, worth it? Also how long was the install and how difficult as I plan on installing this kit myself. Any special tools needed?

BTW...I did use the search function and did not see anyone actually install this master kit.....I saw alot of posts mentioning energy suspension components but no one actually install the complete master kit from what I have read.

So lets have it.....anyone?

Re: Anyone? Energy Suspension Master Kit Installed?

Google "Prelude Energy Suspension Install." You will get quite a few helpful links. I actually just my master kit in the mail today, not sure when I'll be installing it though. I'll probably end up getting a 20T hydraulic press before I do though just to make everything that much easier.

Re: Anyone? Energy Suspension Master Kit Installed?

dbd6604, thanks for google suggestion I will try that. Did the master kit you got come with every bushing or are there still some missing that the kit does not include.

Re: Anyone? Energy Suspension Master Kit Installed?

In my complete parts list the only things excluded are "Rear Trailing Arm Bushing Set" and "Motor Mount Insert Set." Obviously they can't include sway bar bushings (due to almost every sway bar being a different size), but I knew that when I bought the master set.

Re: Anyone? Energy Suspension Master Kit Installed?

I was reading around the interw3b and found out that OTC makes a really good ball joint press that lots of people are using to uninstall/install bushings. I might try it out.

Re: Anyone? Energy Suspension Master Kit Installed?

Removing both lca's, all four uca's, both sway bars, and all four shocks...fun times. Definitely worth the time and you'll appreciate the ride quality after the install.

is a press seriously necessary? wouldn't a vise or hammer do the job?

I haven't tinkered with my suspension but really want to, unless i have to buy a damn press lol

The majority of people that have installed this kit highly recommend one. I don't really know if I can justify spending $200 on one for one job though. I'm going to see what I can get done without one and let you know how it goes haha.

Re: Anyone? Energy Suspension Master Kit Installed?

Where did you get the kit from? I was thinking of installing one in my 1999 base. I have a 35 ton press in my shop already. Yes, it is highly reccomended to use a press, or air hammer to install them. They dont just push in with a vise.

Re: Anyone? Energy Suspension Master Kit Installed?

I got mine for $151 shipped on E-Bay. You can get either the red or the black (graphite injected) set.

Re: Anyone? Energy Suspension Master Kit Installed?

I spent over 10 hours installing mine with a press. Including trailing arms. Good luck using a vise and hammer.

Re: Anyone? Energy Suspension Master Kit Installed?

you could pay a shop to press them. Otherwise go to an equipment rental company and rent one. That would be better then buying one for a one time use.

I bought the 200 dollar one from harborfreight to do mine. I have used it for other things too but it paid for itself just in the bushing replacement. A shop would charge so so so much more.

Sorry if my response seemed a little assholeish. Its been a long ****ty week.
