well I paid 8500 for my 01 SH, with only 75k miles on it, the dealer pics are in my sig, and that was not a bad price. but to be honest I'd tell them that if they include tax and all their fees for under 8k then they have a deal. tell them you want 8k (or less) to be your walk out price or you walk.

it's not super clean, its got scratches on every corner of the car. Look closely at the photos, also the Prelude logo on the grill is half missing. The interior is nice, and overall the car is clean, but it's not worth anywhere near what they are asking. I would say $6350 max price. Anyone who gives them almost $8K for that is crazy.

I would give 6-7k. I only paid $3700 for my 99 Prelude SH with only about 106miles or 170km and my car had a full OEM lip kit with two sets of rims, full leather interior and heated seats. Just needed new front bumper... Infact I'd give him 5-6k. That's too much for a base Prelude.

you can find a good lude for 4k and put 3k in mods and make it super nice. I got my 1998 for $3,200 just think of all the things you can do with $5k in mods. just my .02

Re: 2001 Honda Prelude stick - why are they asking so much for this

I applied for financing and trade in, homeboy never called me back. Dudes are like, "let me show you a wonderful car", an I'm like aight, but it ain't all that. I would rather buy that same car full of Micky D's wrappers and **** all over the floor, dirty, etc., for $5000 off a private seller. You know that thing prolly looked like **** two weeks ago anyway.

A guy on Craigslist here in Virginia sold a 99 with 142K, hunter green 5sp this weekend for $3700. Only mod was a K&N cold air intake. This car dealer would have waxed that thing up and asked $6500 for it. I just need to get some cash in my hands I am not gonna deal with a dealership unless I has to.

Re: 2001 Honda Prelude stick - why are they asking so much for this

In my opinion, there's no point in really buying a Honda from dealership. The parts and stuff are fairly generic and almost every mechanic will know how to work with one. Only reason I would buy from a dealership would be a trade in which isn't always great or you want warranty on it.

Re: 2001 Honda Prelude stick - why are they asking so much for this

paid 4500 for mine with about 140,000miles so no more than 5500 is what i say but dealerships usually bump up tha price bout 1,ooo so they prob wont take ne-less than 6500.

Re: 2001 Honda Prelude stick - why are they asking so much for this

dealers are bisshhes man. for example, KBB on that car is barely 6 grand.. as soon as u drive it off the lot u lose money. even if u wanted to sell it the next day u couldn't sell it for as much as u bought it. so i'd say forget that shiett and find a private seller. I bought my '01 prelude SH w/ 86K on it for 3800 cash off this teenage tweaker. lol
