Does this 99 Lude look like a good deal?

1999 Honda Prelude Base - Cars For Sale Arlington, VA

Its an automatic 99 with fairly high mileage. I went and looked at it an it is in very nice shape.

Yeah it looks nice, beside the tail lights. However, i'm going to tell you what everybody else is going to. Stay away from the automatics.

I would buy a manual Prius before an auto Prelude! lol Okay I may have exaggerated a little but you get my point.

Re: Does this 99 Lude look like a good deal?

The body is very nice for that age and mileage...it looks like it was garage kept.

Interior is very good. Agreed, I hate the fact that it is an auto

Re: Does this 99 Lude look like a good deal?

it's not only the lame factor that it's an auto, auto transmissions on preludes are just bad lol.
If it hasn't already been replaced, it probably will need to be soon.

Re: Does this 99 Lude look like a good deal?

i wouldn't pay that much. period. 4500 would be reasonable. but like others have mentioned; it is an auto. the other things that make it way overpriced: modded headlights and tail lights, muffler/exhaust, painted VC/Header cover. all these little mods take value out of the car. use them against the dealer if you are seriously considering buying this car.

Re: Does this 99 Lude look like a good deal?

The car doesn't look bad at all until I saw that it was a automatic lol.. If you can't drive a manual then go for it but I would try to talk them down on the price though....

it looked clean, mileage wasnt bad, but like everyone else said. it was good til it said auto.. since i have been driving stick i refuse to go back to auto. just not as fun and you cant open her up as much as you can with a manual

Re: Does this 99 Lude look like a good deal?

everything stated above is true. i mean a '99 is supposed to have a longer lasting transmission but i still wouldn't trust it. my transmission on my '98 is going out right now, but good thing i already bought everything for a 5spd swap =D

Re: Does this 99 Lude look like a good deal?

trust me, I don't want an auto. Autos are fine for sedans, but for trucks and sports cars I always buy manuals.

I was just trying to see if it looked like a fairly good deal or not. The white one behind it was a 98, also was an auto, but it had black leather interior. It has already sold.

Hey guys, so I've been looking for a 5th generation prelude for a while and finally found one, but I'm not sure if it is a good deal or not. Check out the link and let me know what you guys think.

I wouldn't touch it. A car that turbo's will rob your money if not done properly. My guess is the guy abused it...

Re: Does this 99 Lude look like a good deal?

i know i have to agree with everyone else, that an auto for a prelude is a no go. and andrewcjduong has a very good point. you dont know what that guy did to it or if it was even installed properly. plus the extra work you gotta do for your turbo may cost you more in the long run rather than having a non-turbo
