How Do I Test My ATTS?

Recently I got a P0420 code and my ATTS light came on which I heard means that it shuts off. But now that it's off I've noticed a big difference in handling. The steering wheel is a lot less stiff and I feel like I'm able to take turns better. When I had the ATTS for some reason I felt like the car pulled in the opposite direction when I took a turn. I was wondering if there's a way to test the ATTS to see if it's still working properly?

Re: How Do I Test My ATTS?

I would suggest a dealer but my local Honda dealer had to call 2 other Honda dealers to find out what ATTS even was or how to access it...

Re: How Do I Test My ATTS?

If I were you I would change the fluid in your ATTS unit then get your CEL fixed and then see if it is any better after that. Most owners probably do not know enough to ever change the ATTS fluid so it has probably been in there for 100,000 miles or so... There is a way to test i thought, it is in the manual that you can download here all you have to do is make account there. I think it is in the transmission section or something.

Re: How Do I Test My ATTS?

I really don't know a difference when my light comes on that if its working or not. My engine light read O2 sensor but the ATTS comes on automatically, don't know why but it does. I think it still works though...

Nope, ATTS automatically turns itself off when there is a CEL.

Re: How Do I Test My ATTS?

So how much are dealerships charging to change the ATTS fluid? And can anyone recommend a good dealership in the NYC or LI area?

Re: How Do I Test My ATTS?

Update:

So I had to remove my battery for a couple of hours and when I put it in the ATTS and CEL light where off. But what I'm really noticing is that with ATTS on the car likes to pull to the left. Any ideas on what this could be?

Re: How Do I Test My ATTS?

p0420 is your catalytic convertor bro.

as for changing your atts fluid, but honda's AFT 1.5qts and have any mechanic shop do it. they'll have to drain and pump it in.

as for your CEL light, check your sensors particularly your speed sensor on the tranny that might be the cause but i don't know.

the first two, i know for sure.

if u want to thank me, please keep an eye out for an SH tranny.. i'm in need of one..

thanks,

very slim chance, the ATTS unit is very sensitive and there are many codes it can throw when something is wrong so if there is a problem with it the light should almost always come on.
