VTEC not working any more??

Yesterday I was trying to clean my EGR valve and replace the distributor, I couldn’t open EGR valve coz nut was too rusty, Then I opened my distributor but when I checked the distributor I bought have different wiring harness than I have in my car.
I bought TD77U but in my car I have TD60U, so I bolt back all the thing but now I have higher idle RPM (about 1200) tried to setup distributor but its can go up but not less than 1200 RPM, and my Vtec is not kicking any more.
Can some one help me what is wrong with it, how I can fix this problem, and why I do have TD60U distributor in 2001 prelude??

Thanks,

Hit your Valve cover with a wrench that might make Vtec work again!!

I dont know but maybe when you put the dizzy back on you didnt align it up right and maybe thats whats causing the higher rpm. I could be wrong but its just a guess.

Icon2 yo

I would check ur harness and the wiring incase u knocked somethin off and then check the Vtec sylanoid, check the whole Vtec system and make sureeverythings on properly. is there a check engine light? if there is check it out it would help narrow down the problem, dont forget hondas can get very sensitive, one thing goes bad a majority of others go bad temporarily until u fux that one problem again, its like a dominos effect.

it doesnt really matter, VAFC controllers are universal for all Vtec motors just like regular AFC' controllers are good on any car because u can control the air flow on any car, all u basically have to do after you buy the VAFC is go to a dyno shop and have your car tested on a dyno to see what its running so when they hook the VAFC to your ECU they can do the settings on your car that best suits how your car runs, just make sure you have everything on your car fixed and running properly before you install it to make sure you get the best performanc out of it.

apexi vafc you can pick them up for like 100 to 150 bucks. I got mine for $100 and then i went and spent the extra $50 for the wiring harness from inlinefour.com so it would be easier to hook up.
