Painted my valve cover.

Came out pretty good, it got scuffed during install. *Facepalm* Its going to be a b!tch keeping it clean looking. And I know, those stock headers are UGLY. Debating whether I want to paint the stock headshield for them black or not.
Before:

I also painted radiator mounts. And After:

Also found this underneath I got a good chuckle...its from the previous owner, who is a friend:

Re: Painted my valve cover.

At first I was going to say the VC paint job seems really out of place until I saw the pic zoomed out with you car showing. It does go well, I'm always impressed when people can paint around the text. Good work

I've heard if you bake it in an oven it'll be the same as the regular VC paint in terms of getting dirty over time. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The new VC looks amazing dude, a shiny header will definitely complete the look. at first I thought the first picture was the new paint job

x2. Especially when you layer too much clear on top. Starts to turn yellow from the heat. x_x

i think that was my mistake i put like 5 coats of clear. i thought the clear coat would help keep oil/dirt off.. it looked good for the first few hours lol

Re: Painted my valve cover.

Yeah I did the same thing. It works well from keeping the dirt off, just stains and yellows easily.

Re: Painted my valve cover.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

I used a Rustoleum primer, Krylon High Temp white, and then Montana gold for the letters. It was pretty much a two day process. Day one was stripping, cleaning and taping. My old man and I made a makeshift spray booth in our garage, cause its 20 degrees outside in mass. Heat from the woodstove in my room was transferred in there. So I'd do a coat of paint where it was warm enough to spray, and then bring it down next to the wood stove for about a half hour. Worked nicely
