Re: Halo Headlights

Don't see much of a difference, but I don't know if I'd trust my money to myhotprelude.com,
Always seemed shady too me. The lights themselves are just cheap aftermarket lights, simply being sold by different companies.

Re: Halo Headlights

I concur, cheap aftermarket junk. Like I said in one of your previous threads, get the Depo black housings and get them retrofitted. In fact, ^----that guy right there does retrofits, and I hear he does good work.

Re: Halo Headlights

get the spec d's. They probably make the 3rd best replicas nowadays. on my rsx the replica spoilers and lips were almost a perfect fit. but yeah, idk about that site. Ilovebodykits . com sells some cheap (price wise) stuff.

Re: Halo Headlights

Does any online retailer sell retrofitted headlights that are NOT halos? as in just projectors alone? ebay etc only have the halo headlight projectors for the prelude and im not really a fan.

I would get it done but im in Calgary (Canada) and have no idea who does retrofitting around here.

Re: Halo Headlights

Either Retrofits or don't bother buying HID's. You'll glare, you'll get pulled over by cops, you'll blind the sh!t outta drivers. If your looking for replacements then get DEPO black housing. I picked up DEPO black housing retrofitted off my friend. Can never go back to halogen...

Not bad for ebay projectors and 6000k hids. At 1:45 he turns the headlights on. The cut off is impressive.

Re: Halo Headlights

But having true retrofits, the light output would be much better. The eBay projector lights are designed with halogen projectors while retrofits use HID projectors so the light output is much different

Re: Halo Headlights

i have the ccfl halo lights for a 99 prelude. i just bought it recently but god damn it one of the halo rings doesnt light up (one of the rings light up and the other doesnt, in the same headlight). so im going to call them tommorow and complain like a B****. i hope i get compensated for the extra work i will have to do (uninstall headlight, package it again, install old headlight, wait for new halos to come in, then install again). what a pain in the ass.

im wondering, for those who have the CCFL halos, how has the angel eyes been holding up? ive been hearing that people have problems with them after 6 weeks of installing them. i want these lights to last as long as possible, so someimes i am driving with just my low beams (no angel eyes on) and my fogs (with hids in them). that is enough to see the road, and allow others to CLEARLY see me

Re: Halo Headlights

I have the same black halos. The lights themselves are great and definately add to the overall appearance of my car drastically. The things that i have noticed though is that the light from the low beam has a drastic cutoff so it goes from light to complete black unlike traditional headlights that have more of a fade. The only time i have a problem with this is when i need to make 90 degree turns at night because the widespan could be a little wider in my opinion. The only other thing is that from ice freezing over the plastic once or twice the plasic looks like its almost begining to flake in only one or two spots. This could be a surface protectant that i could easily fix by applying more or using a headlight restoration kit. Other than those two things they are great in my opinion and have had to deal with no matenence since i put them in over 2 years ago.

Re: Halo Headlights

Yeah I had mine for a while now no problems what so ever.. Sometimes early in the morning some of the rings may not come on cause the lights have to warm up but give a couple of minutes and they are on other then that they are tip top had them for almost a year now.

I was dead set to get the spec-Ds but I'm a little scared now after that..
I really like the double halo in the spec-Ds but if they don't work then thats no good, what does everyone think of these? any experience with them or opinions on looks?
