Insurance claim on 5th gen

So I backed up into my fiance scion tc the other day after some damn kids painted my lude pink (rims) and blacked out all my mirrors and some window. So long story short side swipped her car. It was enough to mess up the right side a decent amount to claim it on insurance. just not yet.

My question is, since the back is half screwed could i get the entire car painted with my insurance? reason I ask is because the black pain thats on the car isnt factory black paint. The prev owner had painted it black. So I dont want two shades of black on my lude. If I can do this, Ill do pearl white. I just dont know how the insurance thing works and hoped some of yall do. I have full coverage

If you have full coverage then you should have claimed when the kids vandalized your car. Generally (well my insurance copmany) those incidents are covered and don't require deductible and your insurance doesn't go up. Once your cars hit or you hit a car, you'll pay deductible and your insurance will go up.

well with the kids, thats another story. I got it all off, didnt hurt anything just wanted to ring their necks. As for me hiting her car, the way we are doing it is having her claim it that someone side swipped her in a parking lot. I will do the same in prob 2 months or so. This is what the insurance actually told us to do believe it or not. My deductable is $500, (I know sucks) and the damage to car is prob a good $800. Im just curious on how the paint will work on the car.

and for the vandalize stuff, I didnt realize that if i payed $4 more a month that was covered. This is what happens when you let your fiance do this insurance. I also found out if i payed $4 more my deductable would be $250. guess she didnt think that was good info for me to have.

Not sure if I'm allowed to say anything with out it being considered "insurance fraud" but you could get a quote more then what the job actually costs.

Re: Insurance claim on 5th gen

After my thing with insurance just recently heres what I've learned. I had full coverage got hit at a light and had to have the ENTIRE right side of the car plus the front bumper and 2 wheels repainted, including new sheet metal over the whole passenger side. Ended up coming out to about $4200. Which is the value of my car (a 2000 with 120k). My adjuster took it out to the penny to cover it for me and I got lucky because I knew the shop guys personally. ANYWAYS, heres the deal: Insurance is going to cover the damage and no more. Thats the sad part and no matter what the adjuster cant write you a claim for more than this amount, or else they have to total it, which means you will most likely owe more out of pocket since a good paintjob can run north of $5k. The good part is that a lot of body shops offer a REALLY good discount if you want additional work done on top of your insurance claim. Ask around and you may be able to find a shop willing to take the job on, and then you would just have to pay the difference. Now realize this, a GOOD full strip and paint is going to run you damn close to what you probably paid for the car if not more, just ask 1BadBB6. But if you can afford it it would be the perfect time while the insurance company pays for your rental for a period of time. They will estimate time of repair and may only cover your rental for that time, unless there are legit hangups in the process. Outside of their estimated time of repair rental costs may fall on you, you'll have to ask your specific provider/ bodyshop what their policy is.

Who're you covered with?

Re: Insurance claim on 5th gen

To go from $800 damage to full paint on a car that you bought as an aftermarket painted vehicle when you wrecked it yourself is straight up FRAUD!!!! And the most common type. People frequently wreck their own vehicles for a claim. Even though your circumstance is a legit accident it is red flagged by insurance providers for investigation. Take what they will give you and don't question it. Make your life easy. And besides, if a descent body shop does the work Im sure they will close to match the paint and you will never know.

Re: Insurance claim on 5th gen

yeah, im not trying to do any type of fraude. Im dont want to go down that road. I will be happy if they do a good job and ive thought about the damage to the car and being considered totaled. That just sucks because I didnt pay much for car ($3K)

I hate to tell some of you guys this. But, insurance companies been screwing us for YEARS. They ALWAYS make $$$$. And, if they come close to NOT making $$$$ they go to the government and say they are going to go bankrupt and the government bails them out. Another one of the things I learned getting my Poli Sci degree that pissed me off and turned me away from the political arena. If you dig deep enough you will surely find a large number of our political heads invested heavily in the insurance industry. It would take you a bit to sift through the "holding" companies, but it would make you sick. Then you would realize why when there are huge fires in Cali and big insurance companies take hits why the govt does this stuff, they are making sure they themselves don't lose $$$$.

Re: Insurance claim on 5th gen

I could atleast ask the guy who looks at the car what he thinks on the paint job. Maybe get a quote for damage and some paint on car and just bring it somewhere to get painted. I've also hurd people get an est for the car, insurance rights a check and they bring it somewhere thats cheaper and pocket the rest that they dont spend. Im not looking for a $4k paint job, but I do know they get high fast. Ill let yall know what happens, prob be like 2 months before I claim it though. Ill also post a pic or two of damage to car so yall can see what im working with

Re: Insurance claim on 5th gen

Why do you guys think our government has made it illegal for us to get medications from overseas and stuff. They are making $$$$ off of us if we buy the meds here. Maybe it is a bit of an stretch, but I think about 50% of our laws have been written so that the people pushing the bill in government makes $$$$. Senator Iownapavingcompany pushes for a new highway in his home state. Sick, but true. We are getting F'd at every corner. I try not to even watch the news because it pisses me off.
