door speakers

i just got some new 6.5 inch speakers. i can make them fit i just dont know how to wire them. it has a clip where you hook the speaker up but there isnt a clip on the speaker. is there a way to get the clip off the old stock speaker? or should i just try to wire it myself?

Re: door speakers

i just got them installed. you just cut the clip off and get the spade terminal to fit on the speaker..its just the lil connector that you always have to get when you install any door speakers. hope this helps good luck.

Re: door speakers

Yeah cut that clip off and be sure to leave yourself enough length in the stock wire, and just note which wire is positive and which is negative so you don't polarize the signal when you hook up the new speakers.

Re: door speakers

You can also check around and see if anyone has adapters if you don't want to cut them off. That style connector is one that Honda has used for a long time so I'm sure they are available.

Re: door speakers

If you ever cut the wire short is not big deal really, just get some new wire or aftermart audio wire. just stay away from the cheap crap, there is a reason why its cheap. My door speakers are shoved in the fitting by prev owner, made me so mad. I was into the car audio comps for a while and seeing this made me sick. Really I usually rewire the whole car and take all the stock wireing out, thats just me. Just depends how much time you want to spend on it

Re: door speakers

They sell adapters on ebay. Just search for prelude speakers and they'll come up
