Re: Help help help help help both of my HID headlights went out

It's probably your fuse. Your bulbs or ballast rarely go out both at the same time.

Re: Help help help help help both of my HID headlights went out

Could be a ground also,

My method when they go out is:

1 Check all connections
2 Check grounds
3 Check Fuses
4 Check ballasts/bulbs (usually by switching the good one to the other side but you dont have a good one lol)

Just use some common sense...

Re: Help help help help help both of my HID headlights went out

Ok so I just checked them and now they are both working.
For the past couple of days I would have turn my headlights on and off twice (from the switch inside the car)in order for them to turn on but this morning I just turned them on once and they came on.
Am I making sence?lol

Re: Help help help help help both of my HID headlights went out

Could be that when you installed them they weren't placed in a good spot... if the ballast is moving around in the engine bay it's easy for the connection to the headlight harness to come loose. But that would be strange for them to both go at the same time.

All my HID problems that I've encountered were user made issues.

Re: Help help help help help both of my HID headlights went out

I'm not sure what kind are they because they came with the car.they are mounted correctly and all connections are good.like I said I have to turn my headlights off and on tow times in order for them to come on.
Could it be something with the car?relay or something?

Re: Help help help help help both of my HID headlights went out

If you still have some 9006 bulbs lying around I'd plug those in and see how they work, therefore removing the possibility of the car creating the issue. Process of elimination man.

Ok I'll give that a try in a couple of hours once I get off work.

Also my turn signals hasn't been working at all sence I brought the car(3 months now) and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong with that also but the crazy thing is that my hazard lights work well.

Probably some fuses if the hazard lights work but the turn signals do not, but thats just a guess.

Re: help both of my HID headlights went out

all the fuse are good now I have a feeling that it could be the turn signal switch is messed up and may need to be replaced.not sure but on a side note if the turn signal relay is messed up wouldn't the hazard lights not work too?just want to know before I go buy a new relay for nothing

Re: help both of my HID headlights went out

hmm. i have no idea. i have a problem with my left turn signal. it goes twice as fast as normal but when the hazards are on it blinks normal. i havent figured out why yet but i think it might be the relay. maybe its a similar issue?

Re: help both of my HID headlights went out

Yea i've been through enough HID sets to say that you should check your grounding wire and/or the fuse leading to the ballasts bc with mine the firs tset it was the stupid fuse starting to thin out inside the fuse and then the 2nd set it turns out the grounding was put by where there was gunk buildup which later on turned out to be ok once I removed the ground wire and cleaned up the area with TIGER BALM!!! J/K I mean throttle cleaner spray!!!

When my rear or front bulb went out in one of my old cars it would blink faster to let you know one of your bulbs went out. Don't know if that happens in a prelude cause none of my lights have gone out on it, but I would check to see if both are working

My right front bulb was out so when I signaled right it'd blink twice as fast.

Ok well my headlights were working good for a couple days and now there out again and it's driving me nuts because I don't have time to work on it so I'm bringing this ungratefull bitch to a mechanic shop tomorrow morning and see if they could figure it out

Well the mechanic shop called me and told me that inorder for them to find the problem I need new headlights because the dude that installed the hids(previous owner)used silcone and tape to hold the light bulbs in place which screwed up the headlight housing.

Update:got my car back and I poped the hood followed the ground wire and it was loose so I fixed it and now there WORKING YAYYY!!! Lol ima dumb ass I shoulda listen to a few of y'all lol

Ground wire is probably the most common mistake for HID's going out lol
