The joy of wisconsin

Well I live in an appartment, lude sits in the parking lot. Well i had a little rust in my rear wheel wells, now on my passenger side its creepin out to the surface. How should I go about fixing this? Its obviously winter, So temporary fix? Or wait till it gets warm and fix it the correct way

Correct way in my eyes is, take rear bumper off, both rear wheels, grind/sand the rust off, rust convertor on, primer, paint, and so on and so on, clear coat too?

Not sure what to do for sure so comments appreciated, i hate rust and dont wanna sell my lude because of it, lude only has 116k on it

Wait till it warms up and fix it properly. Chances are that while repairing the rust you may find some elsewhere.

Though it's not all bad being in Wisconsin, you have some of the best craft brewers in the nation on your doorstep. And of course the Packers won today.

If you want to stem most of the rust creep until spring, the old trick is to put some axle grease on it and it should stop for now. Careful not to ruin whatever you wash it with in the meantime and make sure you liberally use degreaser before you start sanding. I'm looking at the exact same thing on my'00 because of all the salt used in Illinois.
