Question about Wheel Fitment...Wanna make sure they will fit before I buy!

17X8.5 XXR 518 WHEELS 5X114.3 RIM +35MM EVO 8 9 STI RSX - eBay (item 330495901724 end time Feb-10-11 14:54:22 PST)

The fitment is:

Size: 17 x 8.5 (Are these too wide? will I have issues on turns?)
Bolt Pattern: 5X114.3 mm
Hub Bore Size: 73 mm
Weight: 20lbs

If you guys could tell me if these would fit my 5th gen I'd appreciate it.

Also just some feedback on how you guys think they would look on a Lude, and which color. I have a green Lude. I figure the Gold would probaly look best. Thanks fam!

They will fit your car. They will obviously be a little wider and if anything might give you a little better control but I'm not too sure when it comes to wheel fitment. You can try looking at this and see if it helps any.

oh and what suspension are you running? that might hinder the fitment a little

Those are pretty wide. They might rub if you suspension isn't right for them.

Re: Question about Wheel Fitment...Wanna make sure they will fit before I buy!

They are pretty wide, but I've seen ludes run 9.5" and even 10" wide wheels.
It all really comes down to the offset of the wheels, you will most likely need to roll your fenders, especially if you're lowered or plan to be

And yes, gold would probably look the best

You should be ok but you will need to run a 215/40 or 205/45 tires to pull it off and roll your fenders.

Re: Question about Wheel Fitment...Wanna make sure they will fit before I buy!

Try to run a narrower tire like HardKnox said and the first place youre gonna run into problems is the mounting tab in the back of the back wheel wells. You can trim it up with an exacto knife and you might be okay. It also depends on your suspension and how low youre gonna go. The lower you go, the more negative camber youll get, which means the tops of your wheels will be pulled in a bit and youll be less likely to rub. You also might need to roll your fenders. It s kinda just trial and error man. But yes ive seen people get that wheel size to work.

Definitely going to have to stretch your tires. I'd probably go with 40 series.

In all honesty. I wouldn't buy those rims. Should probably Google how eBay rims end up. One pot hole and it's game over.

The key thing in that sentence is the +35 offset bit.

Also, like I always say, your wheels are the only thing keeping the bottom of your car off of the deck, so don't skimp on the quality of them.

Re: Question about Wheel Fitment...Wanna make sure they will fit before I buy!

Thanks for the replies. They have the same wheels in 7 and 7.5.

I don't want to have to do any extra work to get them on. Right now Im running stock suspension but will probably lower it in the future 1/2-1 inch.

I don't have much knowledge on wheels so I don't know what numbers to shoot for when dealing with offsets and wheel width.

I want a size that will slide on easy with no modifications, and I don't want my wheels pulled in due to negative camber. So can you guys tell me what's a safe bolt pattern and wheel width to go with?

Thanks for all the help.

Re: Question about Wheel Fitment...Wanna make sure they will fit before I buy!

Bolt pattern is 5x114, pretty standard 5 bolt pattern with an exception of most German vehicles.

The rim width you could go up to I would say 8. Of course you can go wider but that requires more exact measurements and making sure won't rub, hit when you go over a bump, and rolling fenders. The OEM wheels are 16x7. The best fitment would be 7-7.5.

Your tires should be 205/45 series or 215/40. 205 width is the OEM size.

Our cars run at a fairly high offset. +35 is too low.

It's a good fit. You can run 205/45 tires. The offset seems perfect as well. No modifications required.

I was checking out this site for some rims, and they have tires at really good prices. The quality of them I'm not sure. The prices are real good though.

Re: Question about Wheel Fitment...Wanna make sure they will fit before I buy!

tirerack.com have decent prices. I got some General tires and they're great. I generally get used tires since it's not to hard to find and is a lot much cheaper for me (in Canada) but there are brands like Toyo, Hankook, Pirelli which are also great, just a bit more expensive.
