should i part out?

Its A Type SH
well lately I've been considering the fact that it will be a better deal if i part my prelude out rather than try to rebuild it from the tree damage mid last year... i really hate the fact that its been costing me who know how much and after fixing it having a tree rip all that work away and since i didn't have insurance i dont get a dime from them... a lot of the engine parts are basically new with maybe only a months worth of use on them...

i really dont know what i could get out of it vs what it would take to fix it.. what yall think?

Re: should i part out?

clutch only has like 1000 miles on it(xtd stage 3 clutch w/ 10lbs flywheel) along with fresh honda mtf fluid, trans has 150k miles no grinds and shifted great. and as far as the engine it was running when i parked it except it might need a rebuild cause the rear balancer shaft locked up.

edit also forgot i have a prelude book with detailed stuff on nothing but 5th gen ludes

I agree. i will probably be like alot of others but pm me on how much you want for your i.a.c , m.a.p and your crankshaft pulley.

And maybe if you part it all out you can get enough money to get another lude

if i get anything im probably going the WRX route... got 3 kids to haul around and a prelude is just 1 seat short.... but i might try to pick up a 2nd gen and then do a ls-vtec... but thats just an idea...

even though the lude was expensive i loved every moment i was behind the wheel..... ill miss it....

Re: should i part out?

would be better to part it out tbh. fixing that you might as well buy a used lude with a blown motor or something.

so if you decide to part out pm on the header also, im very interested.

Re: should i part out?

if this were my car, I'd keep it and fix it simply cause I do auto body work, but like most people have already mentioned, it might be better to part it out, unless if you have a hook up with someone who can fix the car for you

The QP you'll probably need to cut out and replace it, so if you know how to weld, it won't be that bad and you don't have to worry about pulling the rear window . Trust me, when I say yoru car is fixable, it really is, cause I've seen a lot worse be fixed and put back onto the streets. Just hate to see a good Prelude go to the salvage yard
