guess what came in the mail today

so i picked this up off ebay.

The bid was 6 hours old. I contacted the guy and begged him to end the auction early and let me paypal him asap to get this ish. i've looked for 6 months for one, but was always a day late/buck short.

he sold his 2001 Prelude w/ only 24K miles on it a few years back, and forgot to give this to the buyer. when he contacted them, they declined to have him ship it.. so it put it up on ebay not knowing how rare it is..

Here is one thing to do and one thing not to do.

1: What not to do:
You will, like me, want to from time to time open the hood and pull the mask tight on the hood to keep it looking smooth. If you do it to much though over a long period of time, it will eventually rip at the corners and then you will have to buy another like I did .

2:What to do:
Putting Armor All on its surface will make it shine like the teeth on a hot chic in a Dentyne commercial and really give the front of your car a lot of bling bling. I have used Armor All for over 10 years on my OEM mask without any apparent problems.

First off: RT.. i will never do ANYTHING like you..

SECOND: considering i professionally detailed cars for TOYOTA for 2 years.. i will NEVER be using ARMOR ALL, on or anywhere NEAR my prelude.. ecept maybe in your next cranberry Vodka. Pwnge.. RT armor all is the worst suggestion you have given to date. FAIL goes to you my friend.

Re: guess what came in the mail today

to take care of your vynal/leater material..usually i use a spray called. "tanner's preserve" its a leather preservation spray, anti cracking.. great stuff, smells great too..

DO NOT use anything that comes, 'milky white' .. those ar all water based agents and when you use them, they will crack your leather and wear it down, especially when heat comes into play..

if you have greasy leather and you want to pre-treat your surface, use STP's brand "OOMPH" they actually sell it at Target in the automotive section.. take some of the liquid out, and dillude it water some water, spray the "OOMPH" on a microfiber cloth (or even a chamoise leather wipe) and wipe down the leather surface first. (do not do this in hot temps) then hit it with some tanners and your set to go mang!

I use Armorall(Extra shine) and it works fine with me my friend? But I knew not that it didn't prevent cracking. Does this "tanner's preserve" work good an the dash and leave a shiny as $h1t finish? I don't want my dash to crack! Haha Good info though man..

No need to wait. His car is the same model and color as mine. Black on red works really good on a car i think.

The half nose mask comes with the fender covers. The full nose mask does not.

tanners preserve doesn't shine as much as i would like it to. but there are some wipes that you can use before it to add the shine.. consider the wipes like a polish and then the tanners like a coat of wax to protect it from cracking under heat.stress. usually any agent that shines could potentially damage your ish. i'll get the nameof the wipes i use for shine, believe it or not.. they are made by turtle wax.. which i never use any of their products either BUT i have tried many and these work and the shine lasts at least a month.

yeah think about it.. 1 person in your area is selling one..considering how outdated preludes are, finding OEM accesories for them can be a pain! if you find one, and even if you dont liek it, i would buy to flip.. people would pay a hefty price sometimes for something they really want.
