Muffler silencer

I have a magnaflow muffler on, and its waayy too loud. The looks are just like our oem ones, two pipes. Is there anyway for me to make the sound less loud?

Any aftermarket part to add on to make it more silent? Anyone with any suggestions or previous experience would be helpful.

Re: Muffler silencer

I have a cat on already, I'm not sure if silencers would work well because I have two pipes, and most of the silencers are for the big round mufflers.

Re: Muffler silencer

i would recommend a bottle style resonator over silencers any day, those things trash your exhaust note, even if it is loud. you can weld a resonator in after the cat to deepen your note and rid of droning, all while quieting down the whole system. i recently purchased an 18" long magnaflow bottle style resonator and had a local muffler shop weld it in for $50 in half an hour. helped quiet down my exhaust nicely. here's what i have now to give you an idea...good luck

It should be whatever the diameter of your exhaust is. If you have 2.5" piping. Get a 2.5" resonator. Just an example

Re: Muffler silencer

So, there's no other way of silencing it if I already have a stock resonator?

Re: Muffler silencer

have the muffler shop pull the stock resonator, and weld in a glass-pack (24-30" i believe). did this on my old car and cut the sound in half, and they're only like 50-60 bucks.

Re: Muffler silencer

Just for future refference to my fellow luders, the ebay silencers are absolute garbage. It's just nice to have a $7 piece of metal that will get you from getting a ticket.

"Oh ya officer, I have one, just havn't gotten around to installing it yet"

blah blah blah. I just keep it in my back seat, just in case.
