ATTS Light goes on

I've had problems with my ATTS before but anyways.

First off, I bought my car in October. I found out the previous owner had pulled the ATTS light bulb so after replacing that, I found out the light would always stay on for some reason I don't know off. I brought it to my mechanic since I needed him to clean my EGR valve/plugs and all that (gave CEL) and he said he personally didn't know too much about the ATTS system but he was able to reset it. So now when I start the car the ATTS light is off but when I drive it for literally 1km. The light goes back on. What could it be? Sensors? If so, how do I know which ones and how do I go about replacing them?

Re: ATTS Light goes on

Do you have a CEL also? Your ATTS light will always come on if you have a CEL because the ATTS unit automatically turns itself off if you have a CEL. If you do not have a CEL I would start with changing the fluid, it takes Genuine Honda Auto Transmission Fluid, 1 qt unless you test the thing then its 1.5 qt Honda / Acura Manuals - Hondahookup.com here is a link to get your manual for free (just sign up on the site. I believe its in chapter 5-10 and it will tell you what to do :)

If he reset it and it came back on that means that resetting it did absolutely nothing. There is a problem and the system is trying to tell you so.

In my sig I have a link, called 5th gen resource. It is an online owners manual for 5th gen preludes. Diagnosing the ATTS light is in said online manual.

That is truly the best help you will get.

Well if he reset it and the CEL came back the ATTS light would also, Just saying lol if you don't have a CEL still and its just the ATTS light then I would read that manual :P

Re: ATTS Light goes on

The CEL light isn't on anymore. The ATTS light goes on only when I drive for about 1km. If I turn off the car and turn it back on, it'll go away until I drive again. I pulled the codes a while back when the car was always on using I think one of Kronn's FAQ and these are what I got.

65 - Right Oil Pressure Sensor
43 - ECM Communication Line
62 - Left Oil Pressure Sensor
79 - ATTS Control Inhibition

I don't want to go ahead and just replace those all and my I'll have to find someone who knows about ATTS on Prelude's since my mechanic doesn't know too much about it.

Re: ATTS Light goes on

Look in the manual it tells you how to test your ATTS unit, I am thinking that if it happens when you are cornering you may be low on fluid? Idk much though

Re: ATTS Light goes on

honestly man the only people that would know much about ATTS are prelude gurus who spent time working with the ATTS system such as slick luder who posted a thread on a look inside the unit and honda technicians themselves and since our cars becoming older even they need to brush up on reading material because some of them dont even know what ATTS is. the most you can do without getting hands on is of course reading about it which is what i did and how it works etc. I looked at those codes you posted on this thread and to be honest man the only way to go if you dont know anybody who knows what to do hands on is to bring it to honda and they are gonna charge you a pretty penny i can say the things that would need to be replaced would probably cost over 1000 bucks if not more for parts and labor. I got my atts fluid changed at honda one dealership wanted 240 and they had to call me back cuz they didnt know what i was talking about and the other one charged me 140 and they had an idea of what they needed to do but they even showed me a printout of the technicians guide of how to change the fluid which put me at ease so i didnt think they would totally **** my car up. your best bet is a honda service center and if you have to explain it to them what you mean and they can look it up. heres what you need, good luck
