A few Intake question

I just put a new Intake into my car today and was wondering do I have to put hose clamps on the blue hose?

Then you probably do not need the clamps on them, why do you want them off? lol

Re: A few Intake question

yes. deffinetley have em on. rubber when it gets hot becomes loose. if they give em to you, you should deffinetley have em on. especially if thats an ebay intake.

Re: A few Intake question

that's true, but in general when it comes to an intake a pipe is a pipe. the only thing you're looking at is fitment and diameter. the filter on the other hand is probably 10x more important.

Re: A few Intake question

i would put them on to be safe, but you should be fine without them. it is a vacuum hose, which means there is no fluid running through it. it should be fine. and the most important thing with an intake is the filter. get a good filter to get the most out of your intake. hope i helped. :)

Re: A few Intake question

yea the filter is the most important part but u also have to remember that if air gets in behind the MAF sensor it can cause ur engine to run lean cuz ur ecu doesnt know about the extra air. so i'd put them on for safe measure.

this is true to a certain degree but the intake on my last car was a two piece kit. the seal that held the two pipes was not a good design causing air to flow past the maf like snoopydaballa said so it ran really lean. lesson learned: i wont buy ebay sh*t again

Re: A few Intake question

Put them on. But not way too tight, like some people do, or you can split the rubber.

Re: A few Intake question

better to clamp them and be safe than sorry. and you could probably stand to cut about 3 inches off of it too

Re: A few Intake question

I like the clamps that you just squeeze. Speaking of intakes has anyone wrapped their CAI in those blankets? I ask because in the summer my CAI is warm to the touch, and I've seen some interesting blankets, but not much data.

Example of one i seen:
