replica vs jdm foglights

is it possible to use the real jdm fog light housing with the replica harness? I already have the replica fogs, and I really want to run hids in them but I don't wanna melt what I have.. so is it possible to just use the housings from the jdm instead of buying a whole kit again?

Re: replica vs jdm foglights

Considering genuine JDM fogs are near $300, I'd assume the housing isn't going to be much cheaper. Wouldn't it be better to just get V2 replica fogs as those are pretty dirt cheap and can handle HID's.

Well I have seen the housings pop up by themselves for 150$-200$ a few times.. which to me is worth it for the real thing. I just don't want to drop that extra 100$ on the full thing because I can't re-coop much out of these crappy replicas, granted they are in great condition but...

If you're using the whole harness I dont see why not. You'd just have to convert from h3c to h3. Question though. Are you running v1 or v2 replicas? Because I've heard (but have no first hand experience mind you) that the v2s can handle both 35w and 55w hids no problem. As a matter of fact I have yet to hear of someone melting their v2s. Not saying it hasn't happened, as I'm sure someone out there was smart enough to find a way to fukk up, but its at least not anywhere near as common as the v1s melting.

Pretty sure I have the v1s, I have whichever ones are plastic and CRAPPY. I guess to save quite a bit of money I could buy a set of the v2 housings and try them out.
