jrsc on a stock prelude?

i found some1 who wants to sell me a new jrsc kit for my prelude for 1000 bucks, (originaly selling for 1500). he only put 500 miles in it wen he took it off his prelude. i have a 2000 manual base model with 122,xxx miles in it with a 3" pipe fujita cold air intake, dc headers 4-2-1, 2.5" piping and exhaust. so my question was can i jst throw the jrsc in with stock internals? or do i need to build and sleeve my h22? also would i need to upgrade my fuel pump an fuel injectors? an ecu to hondata?

You might be okay if you run low boost.

But who wants to run low boost?

Re: jrsc on a stock prelude?

ya you'll be fine, just if i were you, id have it dyno tuned right away. a tuner should be able to tell ya where safe boost on that will be. most likely the 8lb pulley will be your best bet.

Or just put a hamster wheel on your motor, probably get the same results.

Re: jrsc on a stock prelude?

You'll need bigger injectors...like 550cc, and something to tune it with..like hondata s200 or s300 and a p28 ecu

Stock engine- 150-160hp
With supercharger 235hp (275hp with 9psi pulley...I don't recommend 9psi on a stock engine)

More cost efficient than n/a if you ask me

X2! you will need larger then stock injectors. i think i might even just go with a set of the acura RDX injectors. a lil cheaper and still i think a 410cc, a lil smaller but have an awesome spray pattern. should still be more then enough. if in doubt of what size to get ask a tuner.

so do i need a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness to use for the p28 and can i use any p28 ecu? and just get a hondata s200 to tune it with? besides the bigger fuel injectors and dyno tuned, would that be all i need to do?
thanks

Re: jrsc on a stock prelude?

Yes would also need the obd2 to obd1 harness.. Sry I forgot to list that

You need a manual (if u have a manual) VIRGIN p28... Which means a stock p28 that hasn't been opened and chipped...which is what ur tuner will do..

You can get j&s safeguard and hondata gasket to be safe..

That's all you really need (besides I/H/E) for a safe setup.. It's what I got and mines running strong

Re: jrsc on a stock prelude?

The jrsc kit comes with a fuel pump... If the kit you buy doesn't have one with it then get a Walbro 255 pump.. The stock jrsc pulley is safe.. Anything other than the jrsc pulley you should at least build the bottom end.

Oh and use a Goodyear Gatorback belt for the supercharger! Any other belt won't last that long and it's basically the same price.

I would recommend that you get some gauges too.. Like oil pressure, oil temp, and fuel pressure..so you can monitor what your engine is doing. You can get autometer or anything but you'll want to get a wideband 02 sensor for them to be accurate.

quoted...

Edit: besides it doesnt have to be an ACTUAL P28... i dont know exactly which ecus it is, but there are many ecu's that your tuner should be able to modify to be exactly the same as a p28.. like literally in every way, the same as a true p28..

The p28 and p72 are the most commonly used.. The 72 is a little cheaper ..The obd2 to 0bd1 harness you can get from phearable.net
