swaping wheels on Franchesca need feedback

I have a set of 18 inch wheels with 215/35/18 Falcons on it now i am bolting on some 16 inch RSX type S wheels on it with offset tires with the front 205/50/16 and rear 205/55/16. I am looking to free up some torque, and HP by getting lighter wheels. so tell me what you think about it and if i will really fel a difference . i will post pics tonight when i swap them out.

Re: swaping wheels on Franchesca need feedback

This is the before rims. they are 18x8 They looked great they were just way too heavy.

i Replaced them with a lighter RSX type S wheel. it is a 16x7. it is so much lighter. it has a 205/50/16 in the front and a 205/55/16 in the rear. it is staggered and slightly more agressive.

I'll post the pics of them on the car tomorrow. sorry for the wait haha. i needed to wash frenchesca before i took the pics. Tell me what you think so far.also considering putting a red lip on them. feedback please

I like the red lip but it seems like more and more people are doing it now. Try it without the red lip and see what you think, if it still needs a little more umphhh then add the red. It will be a bit easier on your motor with the smaller rims, but I think you would feel more of a difference if you went with a lighter flywheel and a higher stage clutch along with the wheels.

Re: swaping wheels on Franchesca need feedback

I already have a stage one centerforce clutch. i didn't ant to drop a lot of money into i higher stage because i knew it was going to be a while before i did a lot more engine mods and i know if i put a stage 2 or 3 in too soon a can do more damage than good. i'll put pictures of it up tomorrow without the lip and see what you all think. i am pretty content on leaving them alone now. and as for the old rims i already sold them man. sorry

Re: swaping wheels on Franchesca need feedback

Are those wheels green? Or black? Its hard to tell from the picture. If it were my car, I'd paint those wheels black, and skip the red lip. The red lip looks good on a lot of cars, but on a red car it is just too much. Almost like your trying too hard. but thats just me.

they are a dark grey. it is a gun metal just shy of black. and i understand what you are saying about the lip. i just really liked it a lot on my old rims. just considering it you know.

Re: swaping wheels on Franchesca need feedback

Personally, i wouldn't touch 18's unless you can do it right. I'd stick to 16's or 17's. Whats wrong with those blades in the background of the type-s rim picture? And i don't know if you know this but i've read somewhere that those type-s rims comes real close to hitting the caliper.

BTW What kind of suspension are you on? looks nice.

Re: swaping wheels on Franchesca need feedback

looks great man, paint those center caps and get some black or red H decals from ebay for them, would look so much better.
I love my 18's but they're light so I'm not worried about that.
I think I'd like to get a couple sets of 17's though. so I can drop the car a little.

Re: swaping wheels on Franchesca need feedback

it rides so much better with 16's than i could imagine with 18's. 17's would feel a lot better too. it is so much smoother and an easier ride. i love them. i can get up and go a lot faster too. what kind of 17's you looking at?
