Icon5 busted cat, what should i do?

so my catalytic converter is rattling. my car was at an exhaust shop today and he told me it would be a good idea to replace it asap, he quoted me about 350$ for labor and parts. is that a good price?
i live in CA so emissions are important so a test pipe is out unfortunately.
thanks for the input

Re: busted cat, what should i do?

that's actually an awful price. cat itself is like, 130 tops. labor is less than an hour. go to autozone, get a cat. bring it to an exhaust shop and have them install it. or if your bolt are fuked like mine were (shop has to torch them off), do it yourself, it's only 3 bolts on each end

Re: busted cat, what should i do?

I paid around $90 bucks for my Magnaflow High-Flow Cat and install was $30 cuz my mechanic got me gaskets. Considering you live in California, you'll need a CA cat which are usually more expensive. The cheapest Magnaflow I saw on eBay that's CA was I believe around $180+.
