99 Prelude hard shifting

I have a 99 Prelude, it is an automatic transmission. When i start off and it goes into first gear the car jerks hard. The other gears jerk also but not bad. When i got it the transmission fluid was low so i filled it to where it needed to be. What could be causing the car to jerk like that?

Sounds like your tranny is going out.

Everyone here knows that the Prelude's auto tranny is cursed. Your best bet is to sell it while you can and get a 5sp

Re: 99 Prelude hard shifting

I really dont want to get rid of it since its one of my dream cars. Could it be anything else other then the tranny is gona die? My cuz said it could be a pressure solenoid. Anyone know anything about that?

Thats why I said sell it and get a 5sp.

You can ask anyone here, they'll all tell you that the auto's WILL fail.

Re: 99 Prelude hard shifting

that's not the best bet.

just keep your car man. save up for a 5spd swap. when the auto finally goes, just swap in the new tranny. other possible things to look for are bad/loose motor and trans mounts

Re: 99 Prelude hard shifting

I had a horrible wheel hop issue due to 3 outta four mounts being toast. Fixed my issues, but I also have a 5spd
