Short Shifter: What kind & How to install?

Ok. So with a new knob, I decided that I might as well install a short shifter. Now how do I go about installing one or buying one. What kind do I need? What do I need? I assumed all you need was to buy the short shifter stick or something but I've googled it and saw people getting all these random parts and adapters. At this point, I have no clue what I'm buying and how to install it.

Re: Short Shifter: What kind & How to install?

There's only two TRUE short shifters for the Prelude.

This is your best bet: JTC Customs It's currently $105, holiday pricing down from $125

The other one is the PSPEC, you can find it on PSPECTuning.com, it's $200

Everything else you see, is an adapter.

The JTC is adjustable in height and throw. If that's your pick, I don't think i've seen a tutorial on installing it on JTC's website, but the tutorial on PSPEC is exactly what you need.

Will the PSPEC tutorial work with the JTC one?

Re: Short Shifter: What kind & How to install?

Ugh. So expensive. I think I'll have to wait a bit till I can pick this up. Plus it's freezing cold out (in Canada) :P

Re: Short Shifter: What kind & How to install?

The above guy's listed the two "best" ones. But I've also heard some good things about the DC Sports shifter.

Re: Short Shifter: What kind & How to install?

he listed them because they are the best. and the dc is just an adapter. and to OP they come with instructions, it's quite easy don't worry

JTC definitely. DC is just an adapter. He makes good quality stuff for a great price.

I'm assuming an adapter requires you to cut the shifter stick right?

Nope, but they're almost as expensive and not near as good as a JTC SS.

Re: Short Shifter: What kind & How to install?

The adapter shortens the throw, not the height of the shifter itself.

Going to get the JTC one. Just need to save money since I need to repair the bumper and ATTS problems.
