Aftermarket Shift Knob

Sorry if this is a n00bish question but I just purchased a skunk2 weighted shift knob. I took my old leather one off, screwed this on and got it to sit straight and tight. Now the boot is sagging and the chrome thing that clips onto the OEM leather knob is showing.

How did you guys get the leather to stay or how did you make it look nice? I don't have a short shifter by the way. It's the OEM one.

Re: Aftermarket Shift Knob

I fit a 2000 Civic shift boot on the stock boot frame and put a zip tie under it on the shift lever to keep the boot from sagging. It was pretty easy, looks good and looks oem minus the shift knob
