NOOOO! rust!!

this rust spot got bigger and i never noticed it....the car paint isnt that bad just faded due to being in the sun alot, should i get that spot fixed and have the car buffed out or repaint the whole thing? $600 is my limit.

Re: NOOOO! rust!!

I got quoted $250 per wheel well because they have to cut it, put a sheet on, and redo it. Yours should be a simple sand, bondo, and paint.

Re: NOOOO! rust!!

I haven't gotten it done. That's just what he quoted along with my whole front bumper replaced, repainted and pulled because of this. $500 for rust and $600 for front end. I live in Ottawa and we've gotten other cars done there so we trust him.

Re: NOOOO! rust!!

Yeah it'll be well over $100, if you look at the bottom of the wheel well you can see that it looks like it already went all the way through. They are going to have to cut at least 3.5" upward and 5" out, if not more. Then they have to replace that with new metal and then prep that, and then sand it smooth with bondo, and then paint it. To be entirely honest, you may have to get a new paint job, just because touch up paint is very hard to do correctly, especially if the paint is faded because its hard to match aged paint.

Re: NOOOO! rust!!

I just got mine done but it was more than I wanted to pay. $425 per wheel well. $2400 for full rust repair, dent removal and paint. Still glad I got it out of the way early.

Re: NOOOO! rust!!

what ever it costs it is worth every penny. i was quoted $1300 for a whole new rear quarter and that doesnt include paint. the previous owner was in an accident and decided to keep the insurance money. now i drive around with fiberglass and it looks like ****
