Re: rear motor mount install help!!

what year is your car? i have an 87 and it took me around 30 minutes to replace it. i just put a jack under the motor loosened the bolts pulled the old one out and put the new one in. its a pretty simple and easy job.

Some say taking off the intake manifold might be necessary based on circumstance but other than that I've got nothing for you. The only thing I know is it's supposed to be a b#tch. lol

Re: rear motor mount install help!!

It can be a major PITA. It took me 2 hrs of fighting n finessing myine back in after my swap. Like stu says tho use a jack to help u. Position a jack stand under the engine where the mount is. Lower the car onto the stand very carefully and slowly little by little until u can slide the bolt thru. Good luck

Re: rear motor mount install help!!

Te rear mount was the hardest when I installed my innovative mounts which I will never buy again. If you are installing the stock mount it should be cake, just remove the intake and use a jack like said and thats it really.

Re: rear motor mount install help!!

are you replacing the entire mount or doing inserts ? either way you do not need to remove the intake manifold . just a little patience and a jack . take off intake pipe ( not manifold ) and you can see the bolt in the mount . it has a capture nut on the other side so no need to hold the other end . place jack with board under the tranny ( unless you have a lift ) then use a pole jack instead . if your doing inserts then just jack it up and slide in the pieces from either side and lower the motor and install the bolt . if your doing an entire mount then you need to remove the bolts that are holding it down and swap it out . good luck i wont lie its a bit of a pita ..
