Re: 120 000 Miles on my Prelude , What should I be checking?
From mitchells recommended maintenance page for severe conditions, 120,000 miles. For a more specific maintenance schedule you need to buy or download a prelude owners manual.
adjust drive belts check parking brake inspect brake hoses inspect cooling system hoses and clamps inspect exhaust system inspect fluid and lubricant levels inspect front & rear brakes inspect fuel lines & connections inspect suspension components inspect vehicle underbody replace air cleaner element (cabin air filter) replace ATTS unit fluid (if applicable) replace transaxle fluid/oil replace balancer belt/timing belt replace engine oil/filter replace coolant rotate tires There are other issues you should check and may have to clean/change as part of good maintenance. Some are: Check battery Check and clean vtec solonoid screen check and clean IACV screen Replace EGR gasket, clean EGR valve and clean/replace EGR port plugs Check and/or replace PCV valve Thats just a short list.... If you are leaking motor oil you can check out this link to find out where and how to fix most common leaks on our cars. The Official Oil Leak Guide - Preludepower.com Hope that helps.
