1998PreludeAK is on a distinguished road
Icon2 ATTS

Okay, so I own a 1998 Prelude SH. As of now, it is completely stock. I am aware that if this particular car is pushed past about 230hp, it can render the ATTS incapable of performing. I have also heard that the ATTS system deactivates itself. Now, I have questions, hence the thread

Firstly, if in the scenario my car goes above the limit, will the ATTS deactivate and then reactivate once I drop to a lower RPM? Or will it just be shot?

Secondly, if in the case that the ATTS gets destroyed, will the car still function without it? And how easy is it to simply remove so that it's not sitting around being dead weight?

Thanks for your time!

Re: ATTS

What are your plans for the Prelude? If it's a daily driver, passing 230WHP probably wont happen.

Re: ATTS

I think you interpreted it wrong OP.

The 250hp limit applies not to motor stress (rpms) but to what amount of horsepower you are pushing at the wheels. What it means is that if your car has enough balls to be putting down 250 horse at the wheels, then the ATTS "clutches" will disengage, effectively cutting power to the wheels.

First and foremost: If your car is stock, you'll never see 250whp. Second, no, it won't damage anything, that is how it is supposed to function.
