Re: what would you rate this engine?

honestly, about a 1/10.

You put no effort into painting that valve cover, you didnt even tape off the letters, plus the painting is chipped. You have what looks like a $25 intake and strut bar setup. and there are wires everywhere. That DC header or whatever it is, is a waste of money. Looks like the only good decision you made was buying those NGK wires. Not being an ass, just being honest.

I just have the mentality of you gotta pay to play and there's no use in buying cheap ass parts that don't do a damn thing for your car. Do it once, do it right. Im very biased when it comes to bays though bc im used to seeing nicely tucked stuff and very original valve cover designs.

True but if you do it right the first time, you only have to do it once.

Re: what would you rate this engine?

Agreed with 1BadBB6...I salute his do it right the first time. I also wont do a thing unless its done correct the first time.

For the record he did post a question that 9/10 times will be answered with honesty.

Stand ya ground BB6

I'll give you a 5/10 for the effort, but I guess I like the clean stock look better. P.S. what is that thing under your air filter?

Re: what would you rate this engine?

I give it a 2/10, at least it doesn't have oil everywhere.
-battery needs to go into the trunk
-intake needs to be held on by bolts and not zip ties
-any strut bar that is adjustable does absolutely nothing for body flex
-VTEC not brushed.
-DC header is basically OEM
-no attempt at a wire tuck.

Re: what would you rate this engine?

(SIGH) Oh brother here we go again! Maybe he doesn't have the luxury of doin it right the first time or having it look badass like 1BadBB6. Thats why they make erasers at the end of pencils and whiteout.

I'm sure with our advice/opinions/preferences.......not over analyzing and critizing.......he'll erase or whiteout whatever he wants to and make it right to him. Snot that serious.

Re: what would you rate this engine?

I agree with kevin lol. I wouldn't necessarily give it a 1 lol but it's pretty shotty work bro. I mean for real. The 1st thing I noticed was the chipping paint on the VC. Then theres no contrast with the lettering. No paint or taped off lettering. Plus u have wires all over the place. Stock oil/radiator cap. What apperas to be a white zip tie in plain site? Seriously man take ur time and do one thing at a time. I'd reccomend a simple tuck, clean the bay (like wash it lol), repaint that intake/strut bar/VC. As for doin it right the 1st time I completely agree. No sense in doin things twice. U DO have to pay to play. U get what u pay for almost %100 of the time. There is the occassional time where u can luck out n score somethin cheap that decent but especially when it comes to our cars its not likely. Have some pride ya know

Nice attempt at sarcasm

Hey Swat, you got some real feedback by some guys that have nice Preludes, don't take offense but learn from what they are saying. If your tight on money that's understandable, but there are some things that can be done now that don't involve money that will clean your bay up. Your on the right track because you're poking around a Prelude forum so obviously you're interested in doing it right. Good luck man.

LMAO you said the theTWAT haha

just take a block and some sand paper and carefully go over the letters on your VC and it'll make it look mo betta, and agreed, junk in the trunk... move the battery. and from what i can tell you still have your stock air box for factory intake, delete it.

Re: what would you rate this engine?

1>Repaint the VC and either tape off the letters or have a sander like a dremel sand off the paint.
2>Change the intake to either a plastic pipe. Could be a Type-S or AEM V2 or jus a plastic pipe in general bc metal heats up and ur purpose is to draw in cool/cold air.
3>Filter should be a decent one and not a cheap one. Ex. AEM dry flow or K&N rechargeable filter.
4>Batt needs to go or when this one dies to upgrade to a Optima Yellow at least or DieHard batt.
5>Adjustable struts arent as affective as those that arent. Simply bc adjustables have the teeth that after some time of forceful pressure that the teething will give way and the stability will give out.
6>That tubing underneath the intake filter needs to go as well as whats connected to it. I sont kno the proper term of that big huge plastic box but i think it's called a intake resonator!!! It weighs and would help lighten up your load if removed!!!
7>If you dont normally use cruise control then remove that whole unit as well bc that also will lighten p the weight in your car!!!
8>Please dont go cheap and buy 1 Rain-X Latitude wiper jus for the driverside and a cheap one for the pass side!!! That jus looks retarded!!!

Good job though on the NGK plugs and clean bay!!! Although I dont kno if it helps much but I upgraded my wires from the standard size to the 10mm!! They're bigger and jus xfer more elec.
